Installed easily, intuitive. Received broadcast digital and analog signals. We are in a location with very good reception so I can't say how it would work in bad reception areas. Overall happy with the product. |

It Works Well

I bought this with the new Gateway laptop w/4 G memory; 320 hard-drive and a 64 bit operating system. It works well with this system and with the cable hooked up; it comes in perfectly. It brings in some channels with the included antenna but I assume tomorrow it will bring in more (June 12 deadline). I have not figured out how to label all the channels and it does not work well with media center but that doesn't matter to me. Their included software is really good. It does record programs well. Although it is pricy; it is cutting edge right now and I'm well satisfied. Worth the money. |
I bought this usb tuner a few weeks ago, and I'm not happy with it at all. First off, this is not a Hauppauge tuner, it is a Pinnacle PCTV tuner. Second, it is not Media Center friendly (even though they claim that it is, and they even have an addon for Media Center). Third, even with the included (Pinnacle) software, the tuner doesn't perform will, and looses the signal (tested with a direct cable connection). The only thing I found useful is the dongle connection for Composit and S-Video. Even so, you have to play around with the software to get those to work. When used with Media Center (after installing their addon), the tuner would not respond when it was called on for a channel, and when it did respond (very seldom) it wouldn't turn off when it was no longer needed. My conclusion: Not worth the price; does not do what is advertised; NOT Media Center friendly.
