PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD 5830 AX5830 1GBD5-PPDH Video Card w/ Eyefinity
Cons:
Only one DVI port, a bit long
Pros: Fast, cool & dead silent Comment:
I picked up this card around 1 month ago and I'm quite happy. After a few missteps I had it running. (Get the latest drivers from AMD's website for this card!)I can run the vast majority of my games almost maxed out (Generally have to pull the AA back to 8x to ensure its always smooth). The card itself runs very cool, and the cooling fan is quiet. Its safe to say its the first time I've doubled my graphics performance over my old card and my PC has actually gotten quieter. There are a few 'cons' to point out though, first off the card is very long. I have an Antec P182 case and this card gets extremely close to the removable drive bay restricting what you can place into the bay. On a second note, this card only comes with 1 DVI adaptor, where as most other 5830's come with 2. Its noted in the picture so they're not hiding it but I missed that point when I got the card, I rectified the situation with an HDMI to DVI adaptor but if you are using 2x DVI monitors (or 1xDVI 1xVGA) this will affect you and you might be better off getting a different model.Overall I love this card, it performs, it keeps itself very cool, and its quiet. |
Overall im very satisfied. This plays games at pretty high res and max settings. I feel i got good bang for your buck This review was modfied by poster @ 07-04-10 03:31 PM
