PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) AX5850 1GBD5-PPDHG2 Video Card
Cons:
None really in my case. Maybe that its a non-reference design so aftermarket cooling will be picky. But it runs cool as is. So not necessary.
Pros: Runs very cool and quiet. |

PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) AX5850 1GBD5-PPDHG2 Video Card
Cons:
Kind of long but not too badtakes up 2 slots
Pros: Cool and Quiet (exactly what I want in a video card)Runs all the latest games very well (Crysis on all Very High and 4x AA smoothly) Comment:
I bought this from NCIX to replace my gtx 280 that was boiling like an egg on a hot summer day. This was definitely running smooth through all the games I have played. However..... while playing BFBC2, my game froze when there was an explosion. I figured it was a one time thing and played it again and thankfully it didn't happen again. I then tried out Split Second and very high then I randomly got the GSOD. I didn't panic and just rebooted.Last night, while playing BFBC2 again, the game ranomly crashed on me and my computer locked up. All it was showing was black and red horizontal lines across the whole screen. It almost looked like a carpet on my screen. If I experience another issue like this within the next week, I think I have no choice but to RMA. I just hope things will turn out ok. |

PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) AX5850 1GBD5-PPDHG2 Video Card
Cons:
It is much longer than other 5850s. It is the size of a 5870. Beware! non-reference cards.
Pros: It's a 5850... Comment:
It is much longer than the standard 5850s, it uses a non standard reference design. Also comes with COD ModernWarfare 2, sell the game off on another site to recoup some of the cost.Powercolor's warranty is rather lackluster though. |

PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) AX5850 1GBD5-PPDHG2 Video Card
Cons:
- Very long card
Pros: - Runs cool & quiet- DX 11 ready- Fast! Comment:
Great card for the money. It runs very cool and is able to play the latest and greatest. If you are looking for a video card upgrade this is a great option. Only downside is that you will definitely need a larger case to put this very long card. |

PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) AX5850 1GBD5-PPDHG2 Video Card
Cons:
...i guess its kinda big if you have a wimpy little case...
Pros: Cool and Quiet. DX11....I loved CD:MW2 on the PS3, glad it came with this card! Comment:
I went from SLI GTX260core216s. WOW! Crysis w/very high settings w/very high settings is about 6% faster, and 20% slower w/high settings. Out of the box shes a beast, but mine overclocks 865/1220 via ATI overdrive, well thats what it finds anyways... After benchmarking Unigine Heaven, im seriously in love with DX11... Unfortunitely there are no real games out there that use DX11 to that degree, afaik... The biggest reason I went to ATI is so I could hookup my 2 monitors and projector. For some reason ATI seems to be better multi monitor wise than NV... Sad really.. For the most part it keeps up with my SLI, and in some cases is a bit better, im really impressed since its a 5850... I find no need to overclock honestly. Just waiting patiently for my second PCS+ HD5850 to get here later this week. Im in shock how quiet and cool this thing is! Will update as soon as I get my second card in...I seriously considered 2 HD5870s, but in most benchmarks it was hardly any faster for the money, and GTX470s were just out of the question considering how much power they consume and heat they produce, I dont think little TX850 could handle 2 GTX470s honestly...i7 930_4ghz(20x200)Apogee GTZ + MCR320 triple radP6T XMS1600_8-8-82x X-25M 80GB RAID01gb WD caviar black(games)1.5gb seagate(documents)HAF 932... |
Bought this card to replace my 4870, and I am impressed. I have it with a Q9550 and 4gigs ddr2 ram. I clocked my Q9550 to 4Ghz to see what the card could do, and it feels like I'm playing catch up with the processor. The card is a powerhouse. Pretty much on par with a 4870X2 I once had. Only a lot quieter, and a lot cooler. Excellent card. It also had a bit of room to overclock, went from its 760Mhz to 810Mhz no problems. At 820Mhz core though it would start to get a little unstable. Mem I didn't push too far, bumped it up to 1100Mhz no problem from 1050.
