Cons:SOMEONE STRAPPED THESE WITH A HAIR-DRYER FAN...OH...that's the real cooler. Wow it's loud. Super de duper extra loud.The 'amd' sticker fell off the blower fan causing it to jam in the heatsink on one card after about a day of use. Recommend taking those off to save yourself some hassle.

I got 4 of these for mining litecoins - 2 per computer... Set this fan to over 60% even in a closed case and you'll regret it - The rear exhaust means the case stays mostly cool inside with only 1 internal fan pushing into the case...but the noise has a direct path out the back. At 100% load on 2gpus constant, overclocked to 1ghz but undervolted, I got them down to about 220 watts each, not bad. They maintain 90 degrees C at about 55-65% fan speed.Seriously, With the 4 cards I'm offsetting the winter heating bill of my house by mining coins :). |
Great card for the price, especially since it has a reference cooler. Use it for mining litecoin. It gets a slightly lower hasrate than others but the reference cooler is the big bonus here. Easily cools card to 70ish deg and the fan wont die after a month like the 3rd party coolers on the other 7970s.
