Prolimatech Samuel 17 Compact Low Profile Heatpipe CPU Cooler Heatsink LGA1156 LGA1366 LGA775 AM3
Cons:
Low profile that could block the high profile RAM. The heat pipe is almost touching the video card.Cooling is not as effective as high end air coller.
Pros: 6 heat pipes, low profile, 12cm fan Comment:
This cooler incorporate many attractive features for HTPC that require low profile CPU heatsink. The cooling effective is much better than Silenx Effizio and Scythe Shuriken which use 100mm low noise fan. I deploy this cooler for cooling i650 in mini-ITX case (Silverstone SG06). I have added two Silenx iXtrema 6cm fan to the case to increase air flow.In loading test (Prime95 - no overclock), both Silenx Effizio and Scythe Shuriken will end up 75-80 degree C within less a minute and keep on going up. I stop it to prevent damage to CPU board. This Samuel 17 will keep it at low 70, still a bit too high. This cooler may be good for low power i3 or AMD CPU.I am going to replace it with Corsair H60 as per below link.http://forum.corsair.com/upload/h50minipc.pdfhttp://www.homemedia.fr/tests-guides/190-Test-d-un-HTPC-Mini-ITX-Gamer-en-P55-5.html |
It is good for an HTPC build, but wish they incorporated cooper heat spreaders.
