Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
setup
Pros: Echolocation (ok, maybe not quite THAT good, but VERY good)Comfort Comment:
The headset does what it claims very well. It does a great job helping me locate the quietest sounds quickly.Took a bit of time to set it up. There is not much to the manual, but I did have to read some parts twice.I find it comfortable to play for long periods, and I appreciate the vents on the ears.If you set up a pair and try them on with your favourite FPS I think you will want your own. I would happily recommend this purchase to friends. |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
Hearcups adjust up and down but do not sqivel on hindges which means they may not feel entirely comfortable to everyone.
Pros: Looks Amazing, Has doors on the sides of the earcups to allow you to chat with your LAN party budy or to properly hear youself speak. Comment:
I'm sorry but this product does NOT suck. This headset is designed IMO as a first person shooters headset for PC Gaming only. I am very sure there are better "Headphones" for listening to music or watching high def audio for a movie. For gaming I absolutly love it!!! I used to use JVC headphones and a stand alone mic, this is much better. I can tell where an enemy is around me when I am playing Bad Company 2.I am using a Azuentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 (PCI) soundcard which generates amazing sound using the headset, especially base. It's crisp and effectively provides a surround sound audio enviornment for FPS gamers.I encourage you to shop for a different product if you don't intend to use the Psyko headset for this reason. They are new and will be providing us with some amazing products in the future I'm pretty sure. |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
- Bulky- Somewhat tight on my head. Giving me a headache.
Pros: Good sound.Actually , great sound for surround sound games! Comment:
All in all i am pleased with these headphones. Some minor problems though , when i first took them out of the box and plugged them in the amp didn't function correctly and i was only getting sound out of the right ear and at a very low frequency. I litterally had to bash it with my hand (gently of course!) and that seems to have done the trick. I am also getting some static feedback and i am not exactly sure where it is coming from. It takes a little playing around with your sound card software to get these to sound the way you want them to. Not really keen on listening to music on these , but i have way better headphones for that task. The bass if turned about half way up does the job. If you go passed that it starts to crackle a little bit. Positional sound is great , you can really tell what is in front / back of you. I think the only thing i do not like is that they are heavy and tight on my head. I tend to game for long periods of time and i don't think i could do this with these phones. All in all i would recommend these to anyone. |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
199$ a pair, no console hookup yet
Pros: 5.1 surround sound, Bad ass, on sale for 199$ lol Comment:
Ok, i cant comment on the acutal pair as i have not recived mine as yet. Shipped but not arrived yet.I have been looking for a pair of good headphones for gaming for months now. I have always used cheaper 20$ headphones and they worked but since upgrading to a gaming rig i wanted a higher end set to match my higer end rig. I didnt want to be bias so i bought several pairs from future crap and figured i keep the best ones. I picked up a pair of g35s', a pair of Razer Carcharias and Sennheiser PC350 along with a pair of cheapys.G35 made my head hurt, ears sweaty and no midtones so you cant hear footsteps, 7.1 was hardly noticable. They look good and the mic worked well but close to 200$ i dont think so. I hear the mic does not work with consoles (dont quote me as i never tired). Bass was amazing, could rumble off your head but saddly the music didnt' sound all that good. Razors were super nice to wear but the head band is too narrow causing pressure after awhile along the top of your head. Costing over 100$ with no real features like the g35s they were overpriced. Sound was decent but not as good as i hoped for. Not console compatable. Mic worked well but no mute....WTF right!Never took the sennheiser out of the box. As the Psyko audio came up for sale at 199-cheaper than the sennheisers, i saw no point in opening the box as i had no plans on keeping them.Ill get my pair on monday or tuesday latest. Ill repost with my thoughts but ill give them a work in for a couple of weeks to burn them in as i hear they require this to sound optimal, as im sure the others did too but i didnt have the time, 30 days return lol.I know they are for gaming NOT movies, NOT music, NOT editing your home videos so as long as they work and provide very good situational awarness ill be a happy joe. |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
Non removable ear pads for easy cleaning.
Pros: Absolute true surround. Comment:
Both my wife and I have a set. After using pretty much every one of the so called higher end 5.1 gaming sets, I can tell you with all honesty that the Psyko Headphones are the best available today. If there was a better brand out there,I would have them. |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
-too many cables!-HEAVY-plastic feels cheap, but seems durable-uncomfortable after couple hours of use-for the price, sound quality is terrible for non-gaming audio-expensive
Pros: -5.1 input-unique design-very good mic quality-head phone amps with bass adjustment-easily adjustable for my big head-NOT USB Comment:
Great gaming headset. Sound is pretty bad for movies and games though, but its tolerable. The biggest down side for me is comfort... these are the heaviest headphones i've ever worn. The fuzzy material used for the earcup makes my ears pretty sweaty after an hour or two of use. I wish they used soft padded leather or something. |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
Weight
Pros: Pin Point direction accuracy Comment:
While I was attending Fragapalooza 2010 in Leduc this year Psyko Audio was a sponsor and had a display set up. For a few years now i was using a Dynex DX-28 which is about the cheapest pair of headphones you can buy. I always thought sound was sound and that was all that really mattered with headphones. Boy was I wrong! Trying on a pair of these at was instantly gratifying The directionality these give you was so accurate I actually tested it by closing my Eyes and turning to wear I could hear the zombies (left 4 dead) were coming from. When I opened my eyes I was very pleased to see my crosshairs square in the middle of an ugly face.To provide this type of quality surround sound in a pair of head phones you will notice that they are heavier then most headphones but with the padding in the ear cups and the bridge they are still very comfortable to wear. Lastly after looking at the price of 300 dollars my first thought was that they were on the expensive side. I did become lucky enough to win a pair through a contest at Fraga and when o brought them home I noticed something that made me laugh. They replaced my 20 dollar mic and they out preform my Logitech Z-5500 surround sound system which cost me 399.99. So although the price may be high for some they are well worth the cost and given the choice would buy them had I not won a pair! |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
Price point (they replace a lot though, so...)
Pros: Beautiful full sound. Comfortable after many hours of use. Incredible design. Built in microphone. Support your local Canadian economy (They're in Calgary!) Comment:
The first thing people will look at is the price point and I'll address that first. This headset is not a replacement for the any $20 pair you'll buy from your local superstore. This is the replacement for a 5.1 surround setup. If you often play your games with friends and use any of the VOIP solutions (ex. Ventrilo) and don't want to sacrifice your 5.1 along with annoying everyone you're chatting with (hello WoW players) with your speakers coming through your microphone then this is for you. The best way to describe the experience of putting on a pair of these headphones is like telling someone to remember the first time they really experienced surround sound. You can literally watch the smile grow. The $300 price point may seem steep, but the solutions it brings is worth the cost of entry, easily. Recently when my Sennheiser HD570's expired (RIP) I started shopping around for something a little more robust. I legitimized the purchase as this...it will replace my need for a microphone, a headset, and surround sound speakers. The thing I loved most about my old Sennheisers was the fact that after wearing them all day my ears wouldn't hurt. If you've ever worn headphones that press down on your ears you'll know that after a while they'll make your ears hurt (and sweat). You won't experience any discomfort with these, and also if you're the type that gets really hot and sweats a lot you'll notice that the airflow of these headphones is great. You can open and close the cans themselves so you can either block in/out noise, or increase your airflow. I would have appreciated this on my old Sennheisers as they were open only, and made it so everyone around you could hear what you were listening to. These help in that regard.Long story even longer this is the total package. $300 is a steal compared to all the extra hardware you're saving yourself. Just think how much you'd budget on a headset w/ mic, and speakers, and bundle it into one package that's what you're getting. Also if you're a competitive FPS player just the same as you'd never skimp on a good mouse these headphones help tremendously in terms of identifying enemy positions and whatnot. Been absolutely pleased with my purchase, and when I found out they were Canadian it was the icing on my cake. We make the best headphones (see these), best performance computers (see Voodoo!), and have the best online computer stores (NCIX baby). Can't wait to see what else Psyko comes out with! |

Psyko 5.1 3D Surround Sound PC Gaming Stereo Headset W/ LEDs and Removable Mic
Cons:
-Heavy and cumbersome but an entirely understandable trait which I have learned to overlook-The Mic won't work with a PS3 (at least not until the company comes out with a device made for the PS3-If your head doesn’t conform to the shape of the top where the speak pods are, you'll have pressure points which will hurt after a few hours-Kind of rattles/creeks when you move around but its build pretty solid so I doubt it will ever come apart)-I just wish the color was black and silver instead of orange/red and silver-You'll have to spend about an additional $100 to make it work with a PS3 although the Mic feature will never work
Pros: -Absolutely accurate, you can close your eyes and know where the sound is coming from (e.i. foot steps, players reloading, etc.)-With the base control knob on the Amp, it can boom (but the lower the base the more accurate the surrond sound so it's never more than a quarter of the way turned up)-LED lights flicker on and off indicate which speakers are producing sound-It is an Apple where other surround sound headphones are oranges-The added venting feature is a plus when I want to hear the phone ring or get some air flowing after having them on for more than 6 hours playing games-Can be made to work with a PS3 (which is what I use it with)-Considering what you are getting, the price should be higher but it’s oddly not Comment:
I purchased this from a person who was on the preorder list. He got it in like November. He found out that it doesn’t work with the PS3 out of the package so he sold it on fleebay. After doing some research and asking Psyko how I can make these work with my PS3 I purchased it from him. It was the best purchase I made in 2009, if not in a long time. I purchased a Tritton AXPro Dolby Surround Sound Controller as they recommended and I hooked everything up. The first thing I did was play MW2 online in a Free For All match. I camped just to see how good these things performed and they delivered every noise to my ears with the most accurate direction I have heard. It feels as if I'm cheating really. Now that it's available I'm sure my friends will be buying them after letting a few try the headphones out. I hope they come out with a system that will work with a PS3 without the use of 3rd party products so I can use the Mic. No regrets at all. |

AWSOME!
Comment:
These are seriously awesome headphones the surround sound is breathtaking for a set of headphones, BUT BE WARNED you must have a good sound card to go along with these. motherboard audio just does not cut it. I used these for a little while before I bought a sound card and I completely hated them, they sounded like tinny hollow junk. The sound isn't pitch perfect but with a bit of EQ you could probably fix allot of that. Overall a bit expensive, but for a set of headphones like no other I guess it isn't that bad. |
Never buy this headset. I've just had so much frustration over the 6 months or so that I've been trying to use them. Multiple problems have arisen, but the latest one has finally put the nail in the coffin. The first problem I experienced was unequal sound suddenly becoming apparent when I was listening to audio. The first thing I did was to take them off to check if there was any physical reason I could see that was causing the sound to mess up. I couldn't see anything so a couple days passed of having this frustrating unbalanced noise. So I took them off and examined it further. When I flexed the ear parts to put it back over my head that's when it immediately became visible that there was a crack in the seam which went part-ways down the "soundweave" which only became open when they were flexed to be on my head. However, I managed to fix this problem easily with some super glue. The second problem was that one of the speakers would keep cutting out. I tried some diagnostics and at first it seemed like my sound card was to blame because when I would disconnect the cable connecting to the affected speaker and then reconnect it, the speaker would work again. Soon I found out that wasn't the root of the problem and through some tinkering I found that the point where the cables lead into the mini amp caused the problem. Somehow, something wasn't connecting properly so I had to wiggle it around properly to put it back into a proper spot, making a proper connection to give the speaker a signal. Finally is problem number 3 which officially makes this headset useless. The center speaker died. just suddenly, I was in the middle of a game and confused why I wasn't hearing certain audio. The mini amp had all signal lights on so I assumed maybe it was an audio glitch in the game. When I quit the game I played sound from each speaker to find that the center speaker had completely died. Even connecting it directly (without the mini amp) to different audio jacks doesn't work. The speaker is most definitely dead.So I pretty much wrote the same thing to Psyko to see if there's anything they can do for me. I think they should manage something like a replacement because I could have bought a PS3 instead at the price, and a PS3 highly justifies a $300 cost. I bet they just pump these headsets out of China somewhere for a $15 base cost.P.S. I would rate this 1 star, but I didn't buy it from NCIX (sorry) and I need the order id to do so. I thought I would still let other NCIX users know.
