QNAP 4 BAY 1U NAS ATOM 1.6GHZ
Cons:Does not work well with Active Directory. Very basic FTP server. Very poor technical support.
Pros:Redundant power supplies. Easy to configure. |
After doing my homework I decided on this unit to meet the requirements of my office. Unfortunately after getting it into service I found the two things I required most did not work well at all. The FTP server is way too basic very poor user management an access control. Worst of all this unit does not play well with Active Directory. Attempts to resolve my issues with QNAP technical support were futile at best. If you are looking for a reliable RAID server to use on your Windows network I would recommend looking elsewhere... perhaps Synology.
