QNAP TS-219PII-US All-in-one NAS for Home & SOHO Cloud-ready with Superior Performance
Cons:None
Pros:Works great with VMWare ESXi 4.1 Comment:
We use this for our virtual server backup via VMware ESXi 4.1. Works fine and good enough for small business setup. (10 users) |
Overall i've been happy with this QNAP hardware as it's provided redundant backup, seedboxing and transcoding for my TV. Rsync/cloud backup has been nice as well as it takes away some of the issues with having backups on locaiton.Overall QNAP is quick to provide support although their firmware update s seem to be a little lackluster. Do not install a major update until it's at X.X.1 version where they've worked out the server clearing bugs. There are packaged addons which are fantastic but the fact this version uses an Atom processor means you can't install a lot of Intel only packages which has been somewhat limiting.Another concern is that QNAP takes a rather slow approach to updating the bundled software (Apache, PHP, MySQL) and there can be potential security issues if the hardware is exposed to the internet. Keep this in mind as you have no option to update the core software yourself.
