I purchased this keypad for gaming but as I have small hands I'm not sure its going to work out since I can't reach most of the buttons easily but we'll see I guess as time goes on. good back lighting and response time. |

Buttons are not like a keyboard, so it is not every efficient...for example i used this for League of Legends and was always pressing the wrong buttons. However the d-pad is very useful |

Cons:Bit tippy if you put it on a flat surface though a slightly elevated one solves this problem. On a flat surface you will need to keep your hand weight to the back to control.

I purchased this for my husband, it is his third and he loves it. I doubt he could go back to gaming with a keyboard again. Nice lighting, response time is good and it greatly simplifies gaming as well as reduces hand stress. Most hard core gamers use these.One thing I think Razer needs to do is switch out to mechanical keys, other than that it is a very good purchase. |

Couldn't be happier with my purchase of the nostromo gamepad. you can customize it to do quite literally any key, set of keystrokes or other macros you wish, and has tons of easy to use profiling / auto-swap functionality. I never game without it now :) |

Overall, it's a pretty good product. I thought it would be useful, but it doesn't give you that much advantage if you already have a good gaming keyboard. Although, it is really awesome if you game on a laptop because it can replace the keyboard. I thought it would be easy to travel with, but it's still kind of big, so... It has a nice looking and you have many binding keys, so i recommend it only if you play games on a laptop. |

I have been using this for WoW and Skyrim. It's pretty good. Took me an hour or so to get adjusted to the new setting but overall, you can do pretty much anything within the reach of your hand.One thing is that it does not have mechanical keyboard, so for people with small hands, you might have to push top row buttons harder than usual or sometimes it won't read. |

First off, this review is exclusively for using the Nostromo for FPS play. I don't play any RTS, so on that note, I found that the Nostromo is unnecessary for FPS play.However, what I found great was the response time from Nostromo is noticeable. Key press to action is faster compared to my keyboard and I'm not sure if it's due to the keypad layout or if it's due to the physical mechanics of the keypad. The keyboard that I normally use is the Logitech G110.Programming the Nostromo is easy and can be done without reading the manual.I'm not sure if it's due to my big hands or not, but after 2 hours of gameplay, the Nostromo feels uncomfortable. Whereas I could game quite longer with my keyboard. The wrist rest is adjustable, but it doesn't adjust quite enough to be comfortable for me.Drivers have been a bane for me. None of the drivers have loaded properly without some registry hacking on my Windows 7 machine. The v. 2.0 drivers do not even work consistently. I got them to work once, but after a reboot it wouldn't detect the Nostromo. 1.1 drivers work fine.Hope this helps! This review was modfied by poster @ 11-12-11 08:15 AM |
Overall I'm very happy with the Nostromo. It's very comfortable and makes using key combinations for a variety of games easier. The addition of the hat switch gives you access to another 8 functional buttons with the combination of a modifying key such as shift or ctrl. The only down side is the durability of the device. This is my second one and both the keys and rubber (palm rest) wear over time.
