RedEye Universal Remote for iPhone / iPod Touch / Ipad
Cons:Documentation is abysmal. Took 9 solid hours over 3 days to get it functioning. Had to contact Thinkflood support, get update d firmware, a patch, download 3rd party app to work with device, instructions to update it did not work - basically had to reverse engineer things and hack it to get it working with numerous hard resets required. Required a computer (MAC or MS Windows - I used Windows 7) to update firmware with FF or Chrome. Thinkflood instructions are geared towards MAC users - good luck if you're using Windows. Getting it onto the home wifi network from default ad-hoc network was super troublesome. Need an iPhone or iPad to configure it for initial setup (after all the updating firmware and patching jazz) - Android app cannot be used to initially set it up. Thinkflood - make this easy to install and get up and running for 5 star ratings.
Pros:Fantastic functionality. Setting up activities that combine multiple remote functions together with one action is amazing. Totally configurable layout for different actions that combine various remote actions on the same screen unleashes the power I wanted. Works on iPad and Android app works on various phones immediately giving everyone in our house their own personal universal and super powerful remote. Once it's working and setup it ROCKS! |
Great device - even better than i imagined once setup. Huge challenges to setup requiring high level of computer/network skills. Documentation with device is almost useless. Email thinkflood support for help if you have issues.
