Comment:
Very good top quality fabrication. Rosewill support response was incredibly prompt. See beneath Product package image and Newegg image show incorrect orientation of serial port connectors. Rosewill support confirmed that the package image shows the connectors installed backwards. (Red wire need to align with arrow and white paint stripe next to the serial port connectors.) |

Comment:
Purchased this for the goal of connecting Serial port to the printer. The new dell Computer does not have serial port and I guess all latest printers are all employing USB now. It functions. But I was trying to use it so my buddy can use her DOS version of WordStar and print from there.. it failed. It might be my lack of understanding of old DOS plan. In windows it functions very effectively. Greatest price/reliability evaluate to what other organization offered. |

I got two cards for my lab Computer updating. Effortless set up (but taking two slots back from Computer) in windows XP and functions fairly well with PDA and old printer. The greatest location is it only will take 1 PCI slot there! Great card resolve my issue now. Nada. I feel there is no such card can fit two serial and one particular parallel ports in a single bracket slot? Is there? |

Works excellent. I've utilized these in a number of generations of motherboards now over the past 2 years, and with XP x86, Vista x86 and x64, and now Windows 7 x64. I was hoping the card would be assigned resources by the BIOS and automatically be recognized by default Windows serial+parallel port drivers, but this is not the case. A custom driver is necessary. Even though working modern day drivers are readily available, even for x64, it can take a lot more net searching than you'd expect to discover the proper version from Rosewill as an alternative of a broken or invalid download hosted at a third party. |

Appears like a well made card, installed and worked perfectly under Windows XP. I have been working with each the parallel and serial ports with no complications. Great value. Instruction manual was all but worthless. Does not clarify or show how to plug in the serial port cables. The photo of the product displaying the serial port cable hookup is incorrect. |

Simple to install, Low-cost Does not function with Windows 7. I downloaded all the offered firmware/software from their web page for Windows 7 and it still does not work. It registers as a device but excellent luck getting anything to access it. Tried several diverse ways and still no excellent. Newegg has been great to work with, just wish their suppliers had been supplying them with the right info to enable Newegg to supply the proper compatibility information. |

None Plugged into available slot on Gigabyte 880ga-ud3h and locked up on boot. Couldn't even get into BIOS. Removed card and nonetheless locked up. Immediately after removing all other cards and usb devices was in a position to boot. Wrote Rosewill with information but no response. Absolutely not the card to use on Gigabyte MB. Essentially would rate as stars for my application. |

Comment:
Provides a legacy parallel and two serial ports all in 1 package. Simple to install and the directions for installing the drivers are accurate. As other individuals have noted ... the cables for the serial ports can plug in either way and as pictured are reversed; this is annoying due to the fact you seriously want to plug them in the way they are pictured. five stars for efficiency, but shed 1 star for getting the plug assembly reversed. As delivered, if you plug the serial cables in correctly, almost everything works fine, but you may come across (as I did) that the cables push into an adjacent card. This is not tough to fix, but it demands removing each and every connector and inverting the ribbon cable so it plugs in as pictured (tools: two incredibly tiny flat blade screwdrivers - push in the 2 tabs at the plug finish on every single side and pull the little clip off the top rated of the plug, then pry the retaining clip on each and every side away from its catch and pull the cable clamp up off the cable; meticulously pry the cable off of the get in touch with clinches, turn it more than, and reassemble - if you must somehow clobber the plug doing this, it's a standard item you can get from Jameco). |

It works. Simple to install. The parallel port runs on a unique I/O range than a normal one and it is not changeable. This is fine for most folks, but it was a bit of a discomfort to reprogram the system that was running the factor I had attached. If you need to have it to run a printer, you'll be fine. If you have some crazy custom programmed gizmo, like I have... check for a far better selection. Then once more... I did get it working so perhaps you can too. |

Well price is great, the serial ports can be moved to various pci slots. No issues with installing or detecting. Works flawlessly. The plug for the serial connector ribbon on the pci card is not seriously dummy proof, but the arrows are uncomplicated sufficient... Bought one more 1 I liked it so a lot... |

Simple install. The device's efficiency is what you would expect for a twenty-buck parallel adapter. Most of all, it functions! In XP, you have to really use the driver CD; not a steep price compared to getting a new, compatible printer, which was my option. |

Comment:
It functions. That's what it's supposed to do. As mentioned by others, the box picture is incorrect. But so are the driver instructions. They say to install three times, but XP/SP3 kept reporting that the drivers had been the latest following the initially time - and the printer on the parallel port liked it (my serial connectors had been reversed at the time). The instructions say clicking on Port in Device Mgr ought to show ports with the name "NetMos... Port." They didn't for me. They say "PCI Parallel Port" and "PCI Serial Port." To get the "Mos" (no "Net") to show, the install has to be carried out through "Don't search, I'll pick the driver." But then the ports don't see what's connected to them. The way to see the "MosChip" - not "NetMos" - is to click on each port to see its properties. I ended up deleting the ports and devices attached to them, and reinstalling one by 1, using the "Include this location" option. Then it all worked, a couple of hours later... Rosewill's comment in these evaluations about the require for 5v PCI is misleading. It pertains specifically to those Dell computers, which aren't standard. My Gigabyte's PCI slot isn't 5v but 3.3v, and nonetheless the card sees it just fine. The nearby Rosewill dealer says virtually all present boards can manage either.NewEgg demands to post a note on its web page about the serial hook-up picture error or, superior but, contain a note in the package. |

It works. Autoplay did not see it. The manual is useless. It did not show up Device Manager below "Ports COM & LPT" exactly where I mistakenly looked for it.Email to support has however (several days later) to make a substantive response.Lastly I found the card myself in Device Manager, and completed installation. Look around in Device Manager. It's not below Ports, since it's a PCI card. |
What can I say it performs. Set up card. Set up drivers and use the item. none
