Turns any SD or SDHC card into a pocket sized flash drive. Easy to swap out cards. Blue activity light is uberbright but a few layers of electrical tape fixed that. Tends to make for a wide flash drive due to the fact it has to accommodate an SD card. Does what I wanted it to do.

Cheap, rapid, compatible Bulky design, loose finish caps, occasional glitches Tired of outgrowing thumb flash drives, I decided to make a do-it-your self thumb drive making use of a Transcend Class 6 SDHC card and this reader. Mostly it functions extremely effectively - lightning fast. Sometimes and unpredictably on some Computer's the card will basically disappear ("insert disc for drive E") and at the worst time (e.g. operating software program off the card). Looked for loose connections or fit; nothing at all discovered.

Inexpensive, Compact, Supports Class 6 SDHC Cards Up To 32GB. Blue LED Light I've had this reader for more than a year and it hasn't failed me, with my class 6 card I get 15MB/s transfers. The blue LED is annoying so I place a piece of electrical tape more than it.

Nice looks and compact size.Average transfer speed, works right out-of-the-box.Blue LED (busy/transfer light) is a nice touch none for me Clever style makes it possible for you to leave the SDcard inside when protective covers are in place. For carrying it in your pocket.

It opened my 8 GB SDHC with no challenge. Worked fine underneath Windows 7 64-bit, contrary to yet another reviewer's expertise. It did initially report that it did not install the driver successfully - when I clicked particulars it showed two messages: a single mentioned the device was unplugged, and a different stated the drive was installed appropriately. Unusual errors, but no impact on function. Immediately after two attempts with an internal (and significantly cooler-searching) card reader, but possessing it not read my SD card, I bought this. Functions fine.

It does exactly what it was created to do. Just purchase it if you want a easy card reader. None, truly. The only 1 I can consider of is a style concern. They dont seriously tell you which finish is which. You have to take off each caps to see which finish to put your card. It's absolutely nothing truly, just a extremely minor gripe.

Man, this point surpassed all my expectations. For only ű, this is certainly worth the income. I purchased it for my microSDHC card. It's not an expensive card, and simply because of it's small size, it's not supposed to read as effectively as usual. I used the microSD to SD adapter to connect to my old card reader and it worked rather slowly. But, I purchased this to go with some other cards I just purchased (also from Newegg), and attempted it out utilizing the adapter above talked about. It was so rapidly! It was even more quickly than the built-in reader that my laptop came with. The SD card can match in the reader with the cap on it, producing it much less effortless to loose a card, etc.Newegg, as usual, took care of my order speedily and excellently at, as usual, the lowest price tag found.I've currently advised this to friends, and would to anybody else in want of a great card reader. Also, this reader reads MMC cards also, I think - generating it even far better for users with MMC and SD.Excellent item! Not really a con, but the blue LED light on it for activity/connectivity is extremely bright. Some people may not like this. Hmm... Have I talked about that this is an outstanding product? The end cap on the item has a loop hole for a lanyard or a thing of the sort, even though it didn't come with one particular. But who wears their card reader about their neck or wrist anyway?I did obtain this from Newegg.

IT has a great construction, and the lid snaps aren't loose. The USB connector is really stable(i.e it doesn't wiggles arround). It does what it's supposed to do... Well i cant genuinely complain about it, but it is only SD, and SD mico/mini through adapter. not seriously a con... it can be very effortless to loose the caps if your not careful, tho i didn't loose them i would think it could be straightforward to, i say this due to the fact the caps arent secured to case by string or something... once more not genuinely a con, im just becoming picky i got this when i bought a Patriot(i assume) SD card. Worked when i purchased it, and nevertheless does.

Works excellent with Mandriva Linux 2009. Since I run Mandriva Linux 2009. and I have a program board with a Through KM266 chipset - I have run the following command ahead of connecting the card reader -rmmod -v ehci_hcdThis disables the USB two. support in Mandriva Linux2009.. The card reader connects at USB 1.1 and runs good.

About the size of a flash drive, sturdy, well made NoneFYI - this device does not come with an SD card I bought an SDHC card with no realizing that my built in card reader wasn't capable of reading it. With this device I can use it in any computer with a usb port. It fundamentally turned my card into a flash drive.

functions nicely and transfer rate is decent Unit is bulky. If you had USB inputs extremely close to every single other, you won't be in a position to plug this and an additional USB in at the similar time. Plastic caps are a discomfort. There's absolutely nothing to attach the caps to the unit so it's incredibly straightforward to misplace (or break) them when taking them off to plug the unit into a computer. I've had this for five months and 1 of the caps has currently broken from becoming pulled on and off the unit so several times. Greater off leaving the caps off totally.

Ordered it on Sunday. I got residence nowadays (Friday) and it had arrived via FedEx/USPS Eggsaver shipping.I had paid ŭ.00 with totally free shipping. Presently it is ŭ.99 with Ū.99 shipping. Guess I got it at the suitable time...Anyway, the very first thing I did was see if it worked. I copied a 598 MB NRG file to a SanDisk Extreme III SDHC card in 38 seconds. Performing the math, that's about 945 MB/min! Then I rapid-formatted it and copied 549 MB of MP3s 鲾 files) to the very same card. It took just 69 seconds. Performing the math, that's about 480 MB/min. I'm content. My technique is running 32-bit Windows XP. None so far! Why, oh, why can't the caps be tethered or a thing so they can't get lost?
