SAMSUNG N220 Green 10.1" WSVGA Netbook
Cons: NONE

Pros: Super SmallVery LightweightGood Battery Life
Comment:
I got this as a birthday gift and boy was I happy. It was purchased here on NCIX.com which made it that much better. What can I say, its a samsung, the display is small but crisp, ample connections for your regular USB and internet networking needs. The netbook is extremely lightweight, very easy to carry around and so conveniant for websurfing, checking emails, quick downloads and watching movies. I especially use it to watch movies and was able to stream high def from video sites with little latency. I would recomment this purchase to anyone looking for a basic surfing/email workstation netbook but that want quality for their buck! Very nice little machine, especially when it is on sale.

SAMSUNG N220 Green 10.1" WSVGA Netbook
Cons: lame Windows 7 starter instead of a real OS like Linux

Pros: works with Linux
Comment:
I bought this as a gift for my wife for Xmas. Once I installed and updated Linux (Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition), everything seemed to work. I haven't played with it much but the webcam, ethernet, wireless, and sound all seem to work out of the box. (The wireless didn't work when I used the live Ubuntu CD but did once I updated after a real install.) I used the samsung SE-S084C external DVD which came as a free gift with the netbook to do the install so it works with Linux as well. Finally I can report that this version does come with the small right shift key that some have complained about. Not a deal breaker in my mind. I've bought a lot of Samsung products lately due to their higher build quality and support for open source software and standards. (Printers have open source drivers, media players support oggs, etc.) This product looks like another win. There may be some netbook features which don't work under Linux, but nothing I've run into yet with my initial install. It is certainly usable right now.

have 3 netbooks, bought 3 more for xmas. love them to death especially when they are on sale. i bought the msi version with bt, upgraded webcam, 9 cell battery during a sale 2 years ago now and it's going strong. only thing i wish would be that at the price of 2 gigs of memory, you could buy them pre-loaded that way. my msi has been upgraded to 2 gigs and feels very snappy even though you can run windows 7 ok with one gig of memory for most tasking

SAMSUNG N220 Green 10.1" WSVGA Netbook
Cons: TEENY RIGHT SHIFT KEY

Pros: 0.K. EXCEPT FOR THE RIGHT SHIFT KEY AND OOOR SAMSUNG SUPPORT
Comment:
CANADIANS BEWARE!!!!!!!! The Samsung site (ca&us)both show the N220 as having a large right shift key. Also, online sellers show this feature. I ordered one from MemoryExpress and it came with the teeny shift key no one is happy with. MemoryExpress refuse to help me out, and Samsung.ca refuse to even reply to my email. (Which was polite and civilized.) Dennis Moore I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS ITEM EXCEPT ALL THE ONLINE EVIDENCE SHOWS A LARGE RIGHT SHIFT KEY. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEAL BREAKER FOR ME. I ASSUMED THE SAMSUNG SITE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE SELLING
