SEAGATE 500GB SATA 3GB 24X7 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
Cons: N/A

Pros: SATA 2, a little slimmer than other HD's that I have seen
Comment:
I bought this and am currently running in RAID 0 with a Hitachi 500 GB SATA 2 no issues at all. Not noticing any speed differences so I doubt ill raid again with a HD might try again with SSD when the price drops

SEAGATE 500GB SATA 3GB 24X7 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
Cons: None to date

Pros: Reliable, Quiet
Comment:
I have 2 workstations each with two of these in RAID 1 - one Windows XP, one Slackware Linux. No problems with either setup - performance has been flawless and they are relatively quiet as well (inaudible over the system cooling). I also have 4 in a server in RAID 5. Also no problems. I can highly recommend these for those requiring moderate capacity RAID arrays.

SEAGATE 500GB SATA 3GB 24X7 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
Cons:The service and the technical support are really not reliable.

Pros:I don't see any strenght
Comment:
I bought the HDD in December 2008. After 6 months of use, the HDD crashed. I contacted Seagate who sent me a "Certified Repaired HDD", who appeared to be defective. I recontacted them. Each time, I got to send the defective HDD before they send my a "new" one, and pay to send it. My computer is out of use since more than one month and a half and I'm still waiting a hard disk of replacement. Seagate is now on the black list. The service and the technical support are not reliable and the response times are long. It takes 2 weeks before they receive the defective hard disk, and 3 more weeks before receiving the replacement one. I just sent the second defective one after 1 month and a half. My computer will be out of use for more than 2 months.

SEAGATE 500GB SATA 3GB 24X7 7200RPM 32MB CACHE
Cons:Expensive

Pros:Very quiet drive!
Comment:
I've had the 7200.10 drive (500GB) and this drive. This drive is SILENT compared to the 7200.10. Can't tell the difference in speed, but with 32MB of cache, it should be somewhat faster.Clint
