SIIG USB 3.0 to SATA 2.5IN Har Drive Enclosure
Cons:The USB3 connector is an "A" jack, which is supposed to be used on a host, not a slave device. SIIG should have used a micro-B jack, which isn't any larger, instead of the A. The necessary A-A cable is included with the drive, but you won't be able to use this cable with other drives, or standard A-micro B cables with this drive.
Pros:Mechanically well designed. Drive mounts to frame of case with 4 screws. Case skins are metal, and secure to frame with another 4 screws.Got a peak write rate of 90+ MB/s and peak read of ~115 MB/s with an older SSD in the case, so internal USB3 controller seems fast enough. |
Mechanically robust, works fine electrically, but it uses a non-standard USB3 connector.
