SILVERSTONE FM122-B 120mm Case Fan - Retail
Cons:Rated 3CFM lower than FM121.A little noisier than SilverStone FM121, medium noise level on high, obstructing intake on high increases noise level.Since the fan is all white, dust and dirt accumulation will be terribly obvious.No easy way to control multiple fans from the 1 controller.
Pros:120x32mm, all white, open chassis/screw holes, includes screws, fan gril, molex 4pin LP4 connector with tachometer RPM sensor 3pin TX3 bypass, RoHS compliant, metallic black fan speed controller, controller and fan have solid build quality, double ball bearing 50,000hrs lifespan, details/tech specs on package, noticeable paper packaging very ecological.Absolutely silent on low.On high, obstructing exhaust increases noise level a little but more than FM121.Placed on a floor there are no audible vibrations at any speed.Almost twice the static pressure of the FM121, making this fan a much better CPU fan than FM121.At $18 it comes with a speed controller. Would be great if speed controller had 4 knobs for 4 different fans or if the 1 knob could control up to 4 fans. Controller uses a rare 2pin connector. Controller fits any 3.5" external floppy drive bay. This fan set is great but because the fans are white it's not a good choice for dusty or smokey environments. An excellent fan, although I think my blades were somewhat misshapen. There is a fair amount of turbulence in a push-pull configuration on a T.R.U.E., that, according to all reviews I have read, should not happen. Other than this small, minor issue, this is one of the greatest high performance fans I have ever owned. Yate Loons are still my favourite, but for high performance, the FM-122 is astounding.
