Cons:- This is a dinosaur: standard 80+ rating, only 1 EPS 12V (the other is 4 Pin), 3 of the 6 PCI-e connectors comes out of the ends of the other 3 (fire hazard?)- Silverstone is not as good as other more popular brands- Unreliable (Built by the same people who did 0CZ Elitestream)- My suggestion is spend your hard earned money on something else

I bought this thing about a year ago as a back up. Decided to test drive it about 3 months ago and swapped it with the other PSU in the box. It worked fine until 1 day I was watching a youtube video that it suddenly died. While the unit was on its way back to Cali, I did a little more research and to my horror it was built by the same people behind the infamous OCZ EliteXstream. After reading many reviews of both the OL1000-P (can't find anything useful on the 850)and EliteXstream, I found that I am not alone. Many users experienced premature failure of these units. For the price paid, there are way better options out there. I received another 850-P from Silverstone in the mail this morning and am not confident that it would last any longer than the last. It is a shame Silverstone keeps pushing these defective units out the door. NCIX should do it's part by pulling them off the shelf. |

I would rate this 1 star but my order ID is 4 days too old. This is the second Silverstone PSU I have had fail on me. This PSU didn't get used when I first bought it, but after I did start using it it failed in about 5 months. NCIX was helpful in sending my invoice to me so I could RMA it, but it's been just over a year since purchase and I am just going to recycle this thing and move on. I don't want to risk the rest of my system on another PSU that is of the same poor quality.
