SILVERSTONE ST45SF 450W Power Supply

Powers every thing in my modest kind issue case and runs cool, quiet, and has the eight-pin CPU connector. Makes a static sound once every single 5 to ten seconds when playing a game with a stock i5 2500k and stock GTX 460 1GB. When the static sound hits, the game freezes for a split second ahead of going back to regular. Huge Issue. Can you say poor იv regulation?? I thought this PSU would let me to develop a highly effective system in a tiny case, but it fails to provide. Now my brand new ũk Computer turns into a piece of junk due to a power provide that stutters and makes noise in games -- and there are no other supplies on the industry that will perform in its place. Thanks Silverstone. Must have went with a bigger case to stay away from this firm for something besides fans. Manufacturer Response:Thank you extremely much for purchasing a SilverStone. Please return the energy supply back to Newegg for an exchange. If you have trouble returning it, please get in touch with our US workplace at-465-9596usarma@silverstonetek.com |

Smaller size with all the connectors of a new gaming method. Gave the whine situation reported by other people. Was running on a i5-2500k over clocked to four.six, and a 560 Ti. Made whine even though only running prime95 to test CPU load. Acquiring replacement to see if situation is resolved. If second PSU has the same situation, I purchase it with a atx provide. One thing I'm attempting not to do. |

This is an superb high high quality PSU. Completely ideal for a powerful mini ITX make.Lots of connections, kinda too many for a mini ITX setup....see cons.Conforms to SFX and mATX requirements, and even comes with a total ATX style conversion bracket! For the cost, I think it need to be modular. I don't use molex connectors at all so it would have been not in a mini ITX case not to have additional cables to attempt to stuff somewhere. I also only necessary a single PCIe connector, so I had to stuff the other one away as well. This is powering a fairly capable gaming ITX construct-I5 750 overclocked to three.5ghz 1.15vGigabyte H55n-USB3 (excellent board!Ɯx2gb G.Skill 1600 8-8-8-24MSI gts450 single slotSlivertone ST45SF :)I can play any game at 1080p, most with the settings maxxed out (not all games obviously but the gts450 is fairly darn fantastic) |

Replaced my 300W PSU and it handles my GTX 460 overclocked from 675MHz to 830MHz. Dependable. None. This PSU might be much more costly than other 450W PSUs, but retain in thoughts that this is a SFX PSU (small size). It's incredible what such a tiny PSU can do. Maybe not a con, but a note for possible purchasers :The cables are relatively short and this PSU is meant for SFF kind situations where lengthy cables hurt cable management. If you somehow strategy to use this PSU for a complete / mid tower, forget it. Your cables won't reach your HDDs especially without having extension cords. Actually modest. It was ideal for space difficult Lian Li Computer-11. |

SILVERSTONE ST45SF 450W Power Supply
Cons:Only 3 SATA connectors
Pros:Small, efficient, single power rail, quiet, ATX adapter plate. Comment:
Needed this to replace a failed P/S in a mini-server case. 450w from a P/S this size is really impressive. It's a bit overrated for the application but the other choices would not work correctly due to their dual rail design. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-07-12 09:39 PM |

1 of the handful of psu selections if you want to game in a little mini itx case it does not output 450w continuous as advertised. these psu's seem to be capping out at about 300w even though creating clicking noises at that power level.i purchased a single, RMA-ed it got a second and it had the same issue at the same voltage output. either this is false advertising or the QC division genuinely needs to be reviewed. the PSU worked fine below standard circumstances, and i under no circumstances would have noticed the issue if i wasnt strain testing my video card and CPU at the exact same time to monitor temperatures. at around 300w the PSU would start to click and the energy output would drop to about 280 which. this in turn would throttle back my video card. for a 450w continuous energy provide rated with 432w on the 12V rail this is unacceptable. Manufacturer Response:Thank you quite a lot for purchasing a SilverStone. The ST45SF is a 450W continuous rated energy provide so we are incredibly shocked of your encounter regardless of possessing a second unit to try. SILVERSTONE ST45SF 450W Power Supply
Cons:None found yet
Pros:Great unit to beef up small builds. 80+ bronze. Comment:
A great little PSU for powerful yet small builds. Comes with enough connectors to connect anything you'd ever want to inside something like an ITX case. PM took off over 1/4 of the price, making this pretty affordable for what you get.If ever I needed another PSU for an ITX build, I likely wouldn't look anywhere other than this. |

36amps on a single 12v rail. SATA, Molex, 20Ʋ pin, 4x4 pin, 1 x 6 pin PCIe and 1 x 6 + two pin PCIe. Quiet, Black. Can run a 5850 or the new GTX 460 off the PSU. 80 plus bronze. Active PFC. same size as stock unit in SG06ቢ. None I bought this to replace the 300W psu that came in my SG05. It is the very same size as the 300W. That 1 says it is produced by FSP and judging by the stickers on this unit and the stock 1 I would suspect FSP made this one as properly. So far the unit has worked just fine and provides my system a lot more headroom. Now I can overclock. I am operating the SG05, Gigabyte h55usb3 ITX mobo, 4 gigs G.Skill Ripjaws Cas7 1600 ram, an i7 860 at stock (for now), and an 80gig Intel SSD and a 300gig velociraptor, and finally an HD 5770. |

got this to power a simple but compact itx system with two hdd's and a 5450 works great stays quiet uses way less space with shorter cables which every one who's built in a lian li q08 will appreciate. I'll try to use these in all my future small form factor builds. |

SILVERSTONE ST45SF 450W Power Supply
Cons:None so far.
Pros:Very quiet power supply. Seems to be well built. Comment:
This is the right fit for a mATX case with a SFF power supply. I bought this to replace the noisy power supply that came with the case. Very hard to find replacement SFF power supplies especially one that is 450w. |
450W SFX PSU, Potential to run an eight pin and six pin VGA card. 3 x SATA, 2 x molex and 1 floppy. two x 4 pin that combine to be an eight pin. All the cables are sleeved nicely and the PSU is black with black thumb screws to hold it in spot. Quiet. The initially 1 I reviewed stopped operating not long right after I reviewed it. (literally the very same night) There was no smoke or other concerns the personal computer simply began and stopped and then started and stopped, but would not post. I am knocking one particular egg off the item. Not for the product itself as so far the replacement functions very nicely and I know Silverstone merchandise are good. On the other hand, Newegg ships the PSU in a quite modest box. In reality, I got a difficult drive nowadays and the box for this PSU and the HDD were the same size. Everyone knows UPS is hard on shipments. I expect Newegg will get a lot of these PSUs back if they do not ship them with a small a lot more cushion. This is an costly PSU at 80 bucks.
