Not the Best
Comment:
Works as advertised but has some drawbacks. You MUST have it wired to a network to set it up. OK, since you can also stream from your computer to the box to show videos on your HDTV. If you connect a USB drive to it, it causes the drive to heat up alot because of all the disk acceses. Might have something to do with 3. 3. The disk you connect MUST be formatted FAT32. exFAT and NTFS with NOT work. 4. Many video codecs are not supported, but the free downloadable conversion software will convert them to WMV, although the conversion process is very slow. It does produce small low quality video files. 5. For people who do not want to use network, a different media player would be a far better choice, and it supports many more formats. Would I buy it again... don't think so! |

Well, if you have an old laptop that you almost not used -like me-, is pretty better connect it to the TV, because you gain all the performance of the slingbox desktop software, like video quality, 1 hour buffer, etc., if not, the slingcatcher is the solution, up to you. |
hard to figure out how to use it - very skimpy documentation - still not used to it
