Aluminum style. Anything match nicely. Came with all the screws I needed. Great cage which permits to stick 4 really hard drives in a smaller case (Shuttle XPC) in addition to the 2x 3Ƌ difficult drives It was supposed to come with 80mm fan but this is Newegg's fault. I wouldn't put as well considerably faith in the trays. Trays are not tool-less - one egg - It would genuinely make sens to have tool-significantly less trays for this sort of cage - Even my pc case has tool-significantly less drive trays and you're not even supposed to swap them |

Appears great to the eye, attached just fine in my WHS custom desktop. Visual lights displaying access and energy to each and every drive. Every single drive has its only connection (I hate multiports), Fits even these thick 15mm two.5" 15k sas drives utilizing the secured keys can be a discomfort to use on a daily basis, they are very little. I just bypass this in my system*NOT A True CON but, I have tested all sorts of drives, the ONLY ones that have had troubles were the dualport sas drives I popped in. The activity light would remain on constant and following min usage the hdd would disconnect from the OS. This is not a challenge for me, I was just testing it out. I dont use dualports for my program. I am making use of these drives in my WHS in a 2 array setup. One particular array is a mirror 1 of 2 x seagate 250gb laptop drives (my OS) and the 2nd is a stripped array of 2 x WD Scorpio 320gb ("download" folder)I am going to purchase 1 much more of these for my key desktop, tied in with a four port sata card, I am going to set up four x OCZ Vertex two SSD as my new boot drive (all in stripped type!!!)I am heavily invested in SNT backplanes, check out their tooless, trayless five n three three.5" (my property server under no circumstances looked so sweet)If you have queries or comments, feel free of charge to gmail my nickname |

none flimsy, trays are affordable, I kept on having booting difficulty in some of the drives afters running other tests. I discovered out a single or two trays have been causing unexpected functioning environment. I acquire a lot of stuff from newegg and in no way return anything, but this item is worthless. I was trying to run multiple OS's but I can not do that with this item. There are other people than do not have any challenges. |

RAIDing SSDs! Performing backups on laptop HDs is a lot easier. Good appear. Brackets broke soon after opening and closing only a couple of times. I wish the whole unit was created of metal and not plastic. Lasted 8 months and now worthy only for the trash. If you are not planning and tacking your drives out a lot, then this may well serve you properly. On the other hand, if you are seeking to do Hot Swapping, remain away! |

There are no other brands can beat this cost. The body is built with Aluminum, strong, hard and cool my tough drives. Quite quiet, I purchased this model since it is fanless. I will run this thing for whole day and I don't want to hear the noise for 24ǝ. There are 4 sata ports on the back of each hdd, will not mess up with cables. Ya~~ I read other review said the tray is low cost and simple to break. So far mine is working ok and I'm fine with it. I feel the newegg packaging may well be the cause of DOA. Superior luck to future buyers~ This unit meets what I want, I'm running four x 250GB seagate SATA HDD, but only take a single bay to fit all these, awesome! I saw there is a different model from SNT (SNT-SATA1842C), it has four more sata ports and two additional fans at the back. Will attempt it in the future when I save enough of funds to obtain four additional hdd. : P |

The thought of being in a position to fit fourƔ) 2.five" drive in one particular unused 5.25" is pretty awesome. Eventually, I planned on putting three to 4 SSD in Raid . The outer aluminum shell is really sturdy, but the high quality ends there. The tray is extremely poorly design. Extremely flimsy, so you have to be incredibly cautious. I have also read about the latches breaking, but was hoping it wouldn't happen to me. Incorrect!!! Just get my unit today, opened it up and two of the latches were already broken. Major style flaw. The release latch is held in place with a tiny spring that is attached to a incredibly tiny plastic loop. It is this plastic loop that will break...even if you are quite careful, it will break due to the tension exerted by the spring. Mechanical engineering 101. Getting the engineer that I am, I am sure I will find a way to fix it. Not that I mind fixing it, but soon after spending โ for this, I shouldn't have to. If this was sold for possibly ษ, then that's an additional story. Acquiring mentioned that, even with the latches broken, it appears like you should nonetheless be capable to load the drives into the bays. |

Without having fans, it is completely silent. And the trays make sure excellent alignment for the drives. The function of the activity lights is a little strange for me...they are brightly lit at idle or beneath heavy load, and dim only on low activity. That may well be a issue with my drives or motherboard on the other hand. Be sure to use the included screws for install. Other screws will possibly protrude also far into the situation and interfere with the drive trays. I have no difficulties with the fit or function of the trays...they appear really solid and reputable to me. |

. Price tag is great.. Case is reasonably sturdy, Sturdy Anodized aluminum case. . Does what it's created to do for a fantastic cost. . The locks/connections really feel affordable, but they work. (they didn't break on me as other individuals have said). Pretty stupid latch design in my opinion.. Locks don't have a large amount of worth.. The mounting surface is flat metal, so with the surface mount technology, it direct metal speak to to base of the drive. (I covered the mounting surface with black electricians tape) Fundamentally the same as the Athena Energy BP-SATA1842C two.five" (SATA, SAS) Unit. The only difference is that the Sata doesn't have fans and the Sata/SAS does. I 1st bought the SUPERMICRO CSE-M14TB 2.5". It is sooo considerably far better developed, but the fan was unbelievable loud. (would be fine in a server room) If the fan's weren't so loud, I would prefer the SuperMicro unit. |

I have 4 30 GB OCZ Vertex SSDs in a RAID-5 as my program drive in a single five.25" slot. Really like it! Plastic used on trays is not at all durable and breaks straightaway -- 3 of my 4 latches have broken. Metal on trays is too uncomplicated to bend. Screws are necessary to mount the drives into the trays. I have to jiggle the trays about to get them to slide in our out due to the fact of bent metal and broken plastic parts. Fix the cons and this would be a amazing item/value. |

Solid precision construction (fits snug in five.25 bayƞ-in-1 space saving style1 molex energy connector for four drives (cool)fans not included in this unit (good because I'm employing it to home SSD's which truly don't want the fans) Bay slide action is a little grabby/jerky (probably since I didn't line up the slides perfectly).Price is a small greater than I'd have liked (raises quality expectations) Some reviewers have complained about weak or shoddy construction and experienced structural failures. Going in, I took care when handling my unit and encountered no such fragility. It could be due to the fact I was much more cautious going in, but I really feel the unit's construction is solid enough. I can see, nevertheless, how the doors could be prone to breakage esp. if you aren't careful.Even so, when handling any personal computer equipment (which is already sensitive to ESD) care need to constantly be exercised. I've identified on several occasions that seemingly strong instances have been bent out of shape when held in the wrong place and supporting only their own weight (plus internal equipment, no added pressure). I do not feel this is the case with this unit. I believe if you handle this normally, there won't be any complications. |

Looks good. The tray latches break. Not possibly but when. Already had two of the four break on me and I was never ever ruff with it. The trays don't slide smoothly and get stuck alot. They sell replacement trays for this unit here on NewEgg so this has to occur alot. Disappointed in SNT for selling this type of junk. Will not acquire SNT again. |

4 two.5" drives in 1 3.five" slotSupports SAS 3G and SATA drives with HP intelligent array controllers with out any issuesWell ventilatedCheap Trays and latches don't hold up effectivelyNo fans included (despite the directions) If you only alter drives when they fail, these work fine. If you need to have to swap drives more frequently, buy something else. |
Allows you to place 4 SFF drives in a 5.25" drive bay. It's junk. The aspect that fits into the five.25" bay is an extruded/machined aluminum assembly, and appears really sturdy. But the innards are created from incredibly thin sheet metal. In the copy I received, tolerances seemed bad adequate to cause damage to SATA connectors even if exceptional care was applied when swapping drives. Suitable out of the box, trays seemed misaligned and had been practically impossible to take away and reinstall. The trays and the dividers inside the drive slots had been extraordinarily flimsy and had sharp, unfinished edges. A number of other reviewers have reported handles breaking off the trays. I can see how alignment concerns or poorly formed sheet metal inside the drive bays may well outcome in excessive force getting required to seat drives, resulting in premature failure of the tray handles. Thinking about the low high quality of manufacturing, flimsiness of significant parts and high likelihood of failure even in a far better copy, I opted for refund (less restocking charge) as an alternative of replacement.
