SYBA SD-SATA2-2E2I PCI SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card
Comment:
Low cost, but only slightly less costly than other brands. Every thing. I had two of these fail on me simultaneously (probably due to a brief when installing new RAM). I attempted to get some type of tech support or RMAs, but there was nothing. SYBA refuses to help you when you call. I ended up throwing them each out and purchasing a four-port expansion card from a distinct brand. I promise to under no circumstances purchase these once again...Also, even when they did work, the e-sata ports are useless on my case. The e-sata slots are so close to the top rated of the card, that when you attempt to plug in an e-sata cable into them, the metal connectors on the cable touch the case and short out. I'm lucky I didn't fry the external tough drive. Spend a couple of bucks a lot more and get a top quality card. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client, we aid all our customers by means of phone, fax and e-mail. When installing hardware on your computer system, it’s recommended to disconnect the computer from the power source and wear antistatic wrist band. All of our merchandise come with at least 3 years warranty. Please don't hesitate to speak to us at support-us@syba.com if you have any issue or question. Regards,Syba Customer Service

Operates! none Added sata to older PowerEdge 600sc with SBS2003 - operates good, efficiency good with mirrored drives. external ports will make expanding simple if needed.

NONE the parts are not all there Did not come with all the parts. Expect to buy your own cables due to the fact it shows a picture of 2 cables and mentions them but does not come with both eSATA cables

SYBA SD-SATA2-2E2I PCI SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card
Comment:
It works at SATA I speed. False marketing. It's not PCI-X, but 32-bit PCI at 33MHz, which implies it is physically incapable of undertaking SATA II at 3. Gb/s. I purchased this card and an external eSATA disk for my old Computer. I believed this would give me three. GB/s. But when I checked the controller properties (thru control panel or device manager) it says "Host Link Speed: Generation 1 Ƒ.five Gb/s)" and "Device Link Speed: Generation 1 Ƒ.5 Gb/s)".So I took the disk enclosure apart, thinking possibly it was jumpered to run at 1.5 Gb/s. But it was a actual 3. Gb/s disk.Right after undertaking much more analysis, I realized that a 32-bit PCI card operating at 33MHz can only do 133MB/s. (On the box it even says, "Support 32-bit at 33MHz", and you can tell just by searching at the card that it's only 32-bit PCI.)So this is really strange. It's advertised as PCI-X and SATA II, but it's not PCI-X, and it doesn't speak to the disk using SATA II. It's 32-bit PCI and SATA I!I looked up the chipset, and apparently it can do SATA II, but what's the point if you put it in a 32-bit PCI form aspect that's physically incapable of reaching SATA II speed? Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,We apologize for any inconvenience. This is a PCI card operating on 33MHz interface. Please check your tough drive enclosure if the eSATA port support 3.0Gbps. All of our products come with at least 3 years warranty. Please don't hesitate to make contact with us at support-us@syba.com if you have any dilemma or question. Regards,Syba Consumer Service

cheap. rapidly shipping. didn't work on dell poweredge 1600sc, even although some of the slots are supposed to run at 32bitችmhz. it did function on my asus p5l-vm 1394 mobo, but I have no use for it there. these pretzels....... are generating me thirsty!! Manufacturer Response:Dear Buyer,Thank you for buying our merchandise. On some of the server motherboards, you want to adjust the PCI clock rate to 33MHz in BIOS or set the jumper to distinct clock rate. All of our items come with at least three years warranty. Straightforward Couldn't get it to function, would BSOD my windows 2003 server when a drive was attached. Tried to get their support, which equalled 1 response e-mail following a week of telephone calls and emails. So I RMA'd and purchased a greater high quality card. I know some folks have had a excellent time with this, and power to them, just couldn't even get this to work with an HD.

Granted I am not employing the card for any level raid. Windows picked the card up installed. Found and installed the tough drive and was up and running in minutes. havent found any but Syba net website is worthless. You are better off searching for support or drivers on sesamestreet.com

Ƒ) You acquire SATA2 speeds for a somewhat low costƒ) No require to replace a motherboardƓ) Simple to install (card itself) Ƒ) It is not PCI-X, it is basically a PCI (like on a picture)ƒ) Needs some additional function and expertise of hardware when altering a bootable IDE HDD to a SATA HDD I'm employing it with the "Western Digital Caviar GP WD7500AACS 750GB 5400 to 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Tough Drive" that I also purchased at NewEgg. The drive is set up to be bootable. I have 1 partition with Windows XP SP2 on it. So far it has been working flawlessly.

SYBA SD-SATA2-2E2I PCI SATA II (3.0Gb/s) Controller Card
Cons:no enough information on installation.

Pros:cheap SATA i/o Controller with raid option
Comment:
It's a very cheap card. and once you have it installed, it run smoothly. I have it hook up with 2 seagate 500gb in raid. no problem so far. unlike some people who left reviews in NewE**.ca and complained slow performance, I actually did not notice any speed difference compare with my raid(on board) on another system.the installation manual is just a piece of paper with small letters printed on it. for a novice, it did not help at all.when I 1st install it on, It waited about a minute or so to show Bios on the screen. I think it should be mentioned to people. but... probably, It only happen to me.....
