Comment:
I picked up a pair of these to act as a docking bay for a removable backup drive, the cage portion is truly well built, and mechanically it is well built for the ejector and so on. It came with a pin protector (careful not to lose it, as it is tiny) and a 3m clear protector for the actual HD. My only con, and the loss of 1 egg attribute to the questionable latch on the front. It sort of slides sideways to unlock and can be a bit off at times which isn't a great factor taking into consideration if it opens, the HD ejects. Each that I purchased act the identical, but as long as you make positive it is snug and slid back into the lock position it works flawlessly. Included all cables/hardware required to install it, which was nice for a transform.

Comment:
I was looking for a drive that would fit the case exactly where the three.five" FDD employed to be. The ability to mount possibly diverse drives at a variety of instances has wonderful appeal. The installation turned out to be definitely straightforward and every little thing worked the initial time A smaller plastic insert is supplied to shield the 4pin berg connector left over from setting drives to 1.five for old controllers. The package only contains 1, so any drive swapping calls for swapping the protector as nicely. This piece of plastic can't have price additional than a couple of pennys and so I don't see why they did not incorporate more (say 5). Also there is a HDD protective film which is to be installed more than the circuit board side on the drive. This looks like an right after thought and due to the fact there is only one included it becomes questionable if you can definitely swap drives. My guess is that there was a clearance dilemma with circuit boards shorting out and this was the affordable fix. If this is really required there must again be much more than one. Obviously this would not be required for an SDD since they have no exposed electronics. Overall I am satisfied withe the product. For the modest quantity it fees I figured I could just toss it out if it was a failure. It would be nice to discover a source for the HDD Protective film and additional plastic pin protectors. The pin protectors are required due to the fact that is exactly where the drive ejector hits the end of the drive. The film looked like a normal piece of equipment but searching the web so far has turned up no sources. In summary, I am happy with the product and would recomment it with the qualifications indicated above.
