I will try and get it to work one day maby, But I 1st 2 trys no data was being sent, and the Quality of it Sucks. I would think for the money this thing would be built better.

I have installed two of these on Windows 7 systems. And Ubuntu installed the appropriate driver automatically without the disk.

Attempted to use this adapter with my laptop and Windows 7 Ultimate. Unfortunately the CD that comes with the adapter doesn't provide a driver for 7. I tried both the Vista and XP driver without success. Went online and found what I thought was the driver from the manufacturer website and it loaded successfully but wouldn't communicate through the port even though device manager said it was operating normally. After trying several other things including rebooting and different usb ports, the communications continues to fail even the slightest attempt at its use.

I have mine connected to an LED sign. About 1/10 to 1/30 of the time, the data doesn't get sent to the sign at all. At first, I thought it was a problem with my code. after testing it with raw data, I found it was the cable. There also appears to be a delay after I send data. I have to wait about half a second to communicate with the adapter again. I'm not sure if this is the cable or not, but chances are that it is. Save yourself some time and buy an IOGEAR serial adapter.

not 100 % compatible! We Bought 5 of thoses and they have all the same problem. Pin 5 of db9 is floating! You need to use the shield has ground.
