Saitek PS33 Aviator Joystick
Cons:
The button to link the two throttles together likes to pop out on mine. The screw that holds on the bomb button safety cover was loose when I got it and the whole assembly fell off when I tried to use it. It was easy to tighten back on though and has only started to come loose once since.
Pros: A good amount of buttons.Twist axis works well.No problems working in Windows 7 64bitAmbidextrous design |

Saitek PS33 Aviator Joystick
Cons:plastic, but that's expected in this price range
Pros:Price, quality, dual throttle Comment:
Good overall joystick for average user. Connects easily, and multitude of programming options. Fell is quite solid, no free play, configures well. A good price /performance ratio |

Saitek PS33 Aviator Joystick
Cons:Throttle position is in a weird spot but you don't notice it after a bit
Pros:Good response, Loads of buttons and options, Cheap price but strong quality. Love the dual throttle design. Comment:
Well I picked it up because I was at a LAN party and needed something for BF2 and 2142. so far everyone that Iv,e let try it now wants one. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a good joystick for flying but doesn't want to fork out the $200 for one with a screen and a few lights. |

Saitek PS33 Aviator Joystick
Cons:software is confusing
Pros:works very well with battlefield 2 Comment:
I bought this because i was tired of playing battlefield 2 with mouse and keyboard. This is very intuitive to use compared to the keyboard. Only problem is the software is kinda confusing. |

Saitek PS33 Aviator Joystick
Cons:The only thing i can think of is that the USB cord may be a little short, but if you don't plan to sit more than a few feet away it is no problem.
Pros:The AV8R is a very good joystick to own. (see below) Comment:
Playing on flight simulators it has a very responsive (yet not over-responsive) control system. The design is very fun to use and has several buttons and switches to take over for any keyboard keys you would use otherwise (including a throttle controls for a 0%-110% range to choose from), so the only thing you need in front of you is the joystick. The fact that it has 3 dimensions of movement is very very helpful for flight simulators as well. It tilts left/right, forward/back, and has horizontal twist left/right. It also has a nice fit for the hand and a plate to rest your hand on so you do not have to hold your hand up. |
Being left handed is a very unfortunate handicap when looking for nice joysticks and mice. I was glad to find the AV8R which has decent Saitek build quality and features while still being able to be used left handed. Back when I used to own a Saitek Cyborg joystick I had a problem where it could not quite extend fully to all 4 corners due to the circular design of where the handle connects to the base. Fortunately they have fixed that with the newer joysticks, including this one. The up/down "switches" on the base are neat, I guess fortunately for video game purposes they are not toggle switches, they always return to centre after pressing them up or down meaning each one acts as 2 joystick buttons. Quite handy for all the extra functions on flight sims. I've used it mainly with IL-2 1946 and DCS: Blackshark and it works very well for both (WW2 flight sim and helecopter sim).
