Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 MCX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:price a little higher than competitiondoesn't come with 3.5" adapters
Pros:"best of the best" according to maximum pcspeed worth the upgrade even on older mobo's Comment:
This replaced a 1st gen. OCZ Vertex 60g with a fresh install of Win7pro64 (3yrs old) on a 5 year old system (p5qpro/q6600/8gb). Boot times are improved but more likely from fresh install than hardware. What I have noticed is snappier response for most apps, especially Adobe Lightroom. This is a nice capacity/performance upgrade for an older system for the time being. Can't wait to see what another one of these in RAID 0 on a LGA2011 will do in a few months. |

Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 MCX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Doesn't come with mounting accessory
Pros:Looks goodWell built Comment:
This is my first SSD experience. After doing a tiny bit of research, I found that many are recommending this brand. It's been a pleasant experience so far. I've had zero problems and this thing is blazing fast. I would definitely buy this again. My only regret is that I bought at full price. It came on sale the next week. |

Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 MCX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Kinda wish it came with a decent cloning application. Cost per gig of SSDs is still high in general, though that issue is rectifying itself over time.
Pros:Fast performance. I cut my boot time down to 30 seconds (On a Sata 2 mobo). Programs on the SSD open near instantly (superfetch is off). Comment:
Installation was pretty easy. I had to switch the SSD in the BIOS to RAID mode temporarily to get it recognized properly in cloning programs, but I blame my motherboard for that (Sata 2). This drive does NOT come with Norton Ghost, so you'll have to use another cloning program or find another copy of Ghost. Performance is stellar, and reliability is solid so far. |

Pros:fast, reliable, easily optimized Comment:
What can I say this thing is really awesome. Switching from hard drive to SSD has been the best upgrade I've made so far. I really like how easily I could optimize the drive using the software provided by samsung. Did I mention this thing is really really fast? |

It was either the intel 520 or the samsung 830, both of them are extremely reliable... Had to choose the 830 for its sleek look, however I wish the price was lower. |

Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 MCX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Didn't include the mounting bracket that the description said it had
Pros:Fast, pretty and well priced Comment:
This SSD maxed out the SATA II connection on my aging Core 2 Quad based system, Windows 7 boots in about 45 seconds with most of that being the BIOS detecting all my drives in AHCI mode. Application installs are snappy and games load quicker. 128GB is a great size, I can load a few games onto it along with my OS and not worry about running out of room. Again, the only problem I had with it is that this page claims that there's a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket in the box, which is incorrect. When I asked NCIX about it, they resolved the situation so I'm not going to take off any stars. Great work guys! |

Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 MCX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:space
Pros:SSD, good read/write I/O Comment:
Good SSD. Highly recommend if you intend to use as an OS drive. Would not recommend if you need more space. 128GB fills up fast, especially since I'm a gamer, the entire reason to move to a SSD is much faster load times... drawback, games take a ton of space. Fresh Win7 install and multiple software updates, pretty much only have 80gb's free space before installing any games. |

Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5IN SATA3 MCX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:none
Pros:Nice look.Fast read and writes. Comment:
I use it as an Boot drive and its FAST. Start-up is fast and shutdown as-well. I recommend it to everyone.o Its so good that I might buy another one. |
This is my first SSD and I cannot stress how fast this drive is! Haven't had it long, but from what I understand it is one of the more reliable drives out there. If there is any doubt in your mind whether or not to get a SSD for at least a boot drive, stop thinking and do it, a world of difference it makes. Would recommend any day!
