I have been on the SSD wagon for a while now and I wanted a fast and large SSD. The Samsung 840 Pro is according to reviews the fastest consumer SSD in the market right now.While I cannot attest a significant increase in performance over my former Intel 520 240GB, I do enjoy the larger capacity.I intend to keep this as my main storage unit for a few years. |

This SSD is a beast. Its very fast and the storage capacity is great compared to my old 160gb Intel. I have enough space for all my current games and plenty of room to spare. Samsumg reliability is awesome and has a 5 years warranty. Highly recommended. |

This is my second Samsung 840 Pro. I have the 256GB version in my MacBook Pro.Both drives can deliver the promised throughput consistently.This drive is in my new 27" iMac (Late 2012). BlackMagic speed test shows writes of approx 500MB/s with reads of 520MB/s.GeekBench scores this machine overall at 13103, which I attribute at least partially to the speed of the disk subsystem with this Samsung 840 Pro in play.Yes, it is a bit heavy in the wallet department but the performance is well worth the investment. |
