Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5in SATA3 Mdx Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:The data migration software is useless. Samsung just sold their hard drive division so they are using this to deny support for this product.

Pros:Good solution for clean a install of OS.
Comment:
Forget about the easy migration software. Its a trial version of Norton Ghost, that requires registration to use the disk clone feature. Its not compatible with windows 8 anyway and has to be run in compatibility mode. I wouldn't trust transferring my data with this setup.

Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5in SATA3 Mdx Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:-price-1000 write cycles

Pros:-its much faster than a hard drive-extended my battery life for another half hour
Comment:
I personally would not recommend this for a workstation that would do a lot drive heavy tasks but for a laptop that needs quite a bit of storage, this is a good way to go with things

Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5in SATA3 Mdx Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:did not come with a SATA to USB cable - had to purchase one separately

Pros:Easy to install; improved my boot time significantly
Comment:
For a relative tech newbie like me, I was surprised at how easy it was to clone the new drive with the Samsung Magician software. It was literally plug and play. Once I installed the new drive the laptop booted with no problems. I then used the partition software to partition the new drive as recommended and installed the update, and I was ready to optimize the drive. Worked flawlessly for me. This is the first time I have ever opened the back of a laptop, and even I had no problems with swapping out the drives.

Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5in SATA3 Mdx Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Since its slimmer than a regular 2.5" drive, may have issues with some laptop drive trays...

Pros:Fast reads, fast boots and amazing IOPS topped off with a decent amount of storage!!!
Comment:
Its a lot of money! But for a laptop or netbook with only one drive bay, its an awesome choice if you need or can afford it. Its by far the best looking SSD I have ever owned(Intel,Sandisk,Corsair,Crucial,Mushkin) I'm a huge fan of SSD boot drives, I'm not brand loyal, looked seriously at Sandisk, Adata or a Crucial.. But what sold me was the IOPS of the new Samsung. The drive imaging software kept having fatal errors, needless to say I had to do a total HD recovery from DVD for my laptop, not a big deal, most likely had something to do with a hidden system restore partition on the HD that came with my laptop... Not a huge deal, but a little bit of a bump in the road. I was under the impression I would get a Norton Ghost key, but sadly not anymore... The drive magician software that come with the drive is pretty good though. For a decent laptop or thin and light with only one drive bay, I would highly recommend this drive, but for a desktop or 17" laptop that you can install 2 or more drives, I'd suggest a smaller 120-240GB SSD... I paid .80 cents per GB all said and done, which is a fair price to me.
