One of the best panel for this price. Better than most IPS.This screen is tall. 3-4cm taller than my asus 22". I would pay 20-40$ more for an adjustable stand... |
On sale for about two hundred bucks, it's a great monitor for the price.Picture quality and viewing angles are head and shoulders above any TN panel on the market. Response times are not bad at all either. Playing all sorts of FPS, RTS, and action games such as Starcraft II, Assassin's Creed III, Pro Evolution Soccer, Sleeping Dogs, etc., I didn't ever encounter any noticeable lag on the "faster" overdrive setting. However, the budget nature of this product shows in the rest of the package. The stand is one of the worst that I've come across. Even my old Syncmaster 216BW had a much better stand with pivot and tilt. This one is completely fixed. There is zero adjustability with this one. Bad decision on Samsung's part when an adjustable stand can't cost them more than $5 to make compared to this block of plastic. Another huge oversight is the lack of control buttons. Everything is controlled by one single "joystick" under the monitor. Literally the OSD, on/off, and even mode switch are ALL on the same button, so any single command takes at the very least 3 clicks. For example, to turn the monitor off, one has to first click the button to open the OSD menu, then click "down" on the joystick to move it into the "turn off monitor" select ion, and then click the button again to select the "turn off monitor" select ion. This very quickly gets tedious for a daily-use monitor. Another decision made by Samsung to save $2 off of the 2 extra buttons that they could have installed at a Chinese sweatshop. In summary, very good PANEL, but that's basically all you get for the price. Stand is terrible, controls are barebones.
