Samsung LS27A950DSL 27IN 3D LED Backlit LCD Monitor Black 1920X1080 2MS DVI HDMI DisplayPort
Cons:- not 3d Vision ready (there are work arounds but don't bother asking nvidia for help)- back light bleeds through on lower right hand corner near control panel buttons (think this is just something this model suffers from but not a deal breaker)- Price
Pros:- Very fast response time- 120hz gaming seems to be quite smooth to me- 2D - 3D emulation from the front panel Comment:
I really wanted this monitor from the day it first come out (not sure why just did).I've finally purchased it and find it is a good looking screen which I mainly use for 2D 120hz gaming. I don't know if I'm fooling myself but it does seem to be smoother gameplay when playing fps games (like BF3) making it easier to get the kill shot =)Anyways it feels like a lot of money to throw at this monitor. I like that it is 120hz and that it has the glossy screen (some prefer matte but my alienware laptop converted my to glossy screen as it seems to be better color reproduction IMHO)So if you can afford it and want features like 120hz and 3D then this is a good monitor. It is not 3D vision ready as far as Nvidia is concerned. There are work arounds out there but I found the 3d gaming experience with my GTX 580 and the work around was less the enjoyable. The depth just doesn't seem quite right and there seems to be ghosting. I haven't given it alot of effort but this monitor does primarily support Tridef and is most easily setup to use an AMD card for the 3D gaming. This review was modfied by poster @ 06-19-12 05:03 AM |
Grabbed this on a surprise sale sometime ago for 500$ range to replace a 3x1 Eyefinity setup with 3 24" panelslost a lot of virtual desktop space but gained much more in desk spacevery impressed with the inc 3d game app( TriDef 3d http://www.tridef.com/) always new profiles on the user forums for new games that last till the next app updatewould recommend the display to others even at the current 700$+ price tagjust one word of warning Nvidia users go elsewhere this panel is optimized for ATI HD3D, but you can getting it working with some Google skills
