Great quality laser at this price point. You can easily refill the toner and trip the toner page count. Of course printer companies make all their money on the toner. Don't be a sucker.This printer does an excellent job and I would definitely buy it again. Just make sure you keep it turned off due to the crazy sound it makes while powered. |

I got this printer on sale at about 55$ and it is the best printer I've ever worked with so far. The benefits of not worrying about buying more grossly overpriced bubblejet ink is worth it alone. Keep in mind this printer only does black and white, but I rarely ever need color and would just go to a Kinko's if I needed to do it.If you want extra savings, pick up a DIY toner refill kit online (ebay etc) for about 80% less than what it would cost you to buy a new toner drum. You'll never be ripped off by ink again! |

What annoy me the most is the crappy tray that extend 5 inch in the front. With the paper in the open air/dust. I had an almost identical printer that was almost 10 years old, the paper was beneath and everything was better. This design is bad IMO, It take more place, it dust the paper, it look bad, it's gonna break,,, I give it 1 month before I step on it.This printer emit a really annoying sound while on standby, It may not be too bad under a desk.as for Printing quality , A supposedly black region is of an uneven gray. |

this is a great printer that is very compatible with win xp, all i had to do was plug it in and install the drivers and software with the cd. very easy install. the price of course is what sells it since it is the price of an inkjet. INKJETS STINK! i bought one to save money since i dont print much at all, just black printing of documents some times, and that inkjet died in about 3 months, which is incredibly short since i really dont print much.this thing works perfectly without any problem except once i went to update the printer from their website and then had it working weird BUT then you go to the start menu there's an option for the printer under Samsung ML-1640 that says maintenance and it fixes all the problems! also it prints SOOO fast, it goes as fast as it can throw the paper through and it prints beautifully. i have never been so happy about a computer product purchase -no problems, high quality and great price |

I am very disapointed with this printer.Whenever it falls in standby mode, it makes a high pitch noise and it is very annoying. I wanted a refund but NCIX told me that there is no "satisfaction ganranteed" on printers. This was not clearly displayed to me when I bought the printer. I am disapointed by NCIX customer service about this issue I will have to throw the printer in the garbage because I cannot tolerate the power saving mode noise. Called samsung and they cannot help me much. |

So, before I bought this printer, I read the reviews and one review said that there was a high pitched sound that cause the buyer to RETURN his printer. I assumed this was the high pitched sound that happens when the printer starts to print, but nooooo. After buying this printer, I now realize that the sound is there all the freaking time. I own a computer store, and, when there are no customers there, it is very quiet in the store. I started getting headaches and didn't know why. Guess what it was? The printer. I now have to turn the stupid thing off any time I am not using it, because the endless high pitched sound is there no matter what.The printer also takes a good 10 seconds to start up on the first print from idle. Sometimes I have a customer waiting for their receipt, and we just sit there waiting, staring at the printer flashing its light....and then it finally starts to print. After the first waiting period, it is fast and doesn't take any longer to start up, but man that first print is annoying.It is past the point of returning it, so I plan on selling it for cheap (while warning my customer what they are buying), and I will not be recommending it to anyone without warning them of the drawbacks of buying this "cheap" printer.
