Samsung NP305V5A-S01CA AMD A6 3410MX 6GB 6400GB 15.6IN Radeon HD6540 DVDRW WLAN BT WIN7 HP Notebook
Cons:640 GB HDD is only a 5400 rpm unit that can choke the system a bit. Lots of crapware to uninstall when you boot it up for the first time, I only still use one of the pre-installed programs. The wireless LAN antenna could use just a little more range.
Pros:AMD Vision A6 setup great for midrange gaming performance, Enough DDR3 to keep you running though the tough stuff. Great bang for your buck. |
I've had this unit for just over a month and couldn't be more pleased with it. Great wide screen LED display that works in most lighting situations, don't ask it to be visible in direct sunlight though. I've also had some problems with the wireless LAN range, I've had friend's older laptops connect to networks that I can't connect while they are sitting practically beside each other. Not sure if it's hardware or software issues there. The battery will last for about 4 hours before it starts screaming for AC power again as well. Build quality is a little bit on the cheap side but well fitting and sturdy, I don't expect any part of it to fall off any time soon. This unit isn't exactly what you expect from Samsung, but it's also made no sacrifices anywhere to make it anything less than a dependable, useful product from them at the same time.I originally got this from best buy(exact same as this one) for more than it's on sale for. My advice, get it while it's hot, it's a really stout mid range laptop that can do everything you throw at it. Gaming, word processing, Minecraft, etc. without any hiccups at all. I got a score of 1789 from PCMark7 from this unit. Don't expect it to be a powerhouse though or you will be disappointed.
