Samsung Proxpress M3320ND Monochrome Laser Printer USB 35PPM 1200X1200DPI
Cons:6.5 seconds from cold to printed is a lie. More like 10-15, which, to be fair, is still quicker than 90% of printers I've encountered.Build quality doesn't seem that great, but it's Samsung, so this is definitely expected.
Pros:Print quality reasonableApparently comes with 3000 pg tonerQuietGoes to sleep immediately (no fan) |
Well, it's a sub-$100 mono printer. Initial impressions are good. Print quality is fine, the duplex printing is reasonably snappy (although it's not all handled internally like on higher end models), and--best of all--it's very quiet and doesn't throw out tons of heat. My old Brother printer would idle for 5 minutes (regardless of how short I set the idle period...) with everything kept hot, so you'd have 5 minutes of dimming lights and 100s of watts of heat being pumped into the room. This Samsung unit, by comparison, goes into sleep mode (no fan, no heating) immediately after the print job finishes! Printing from sleep is very snappy, although printing from "deep" sleep is slower than the advertised 6.5 seconds. Overall, happy with it so far. Really impressed by the rapid off mode, which, at least among the office and consumer models I've encountered, is not typical.
