Pros:-Sleek design looks good-Monitor screen quality is what you would expect from samsung- Game mode is actually very nice, when I remember to turn it on it does look alot nicer (adds to the experience)- price range is good. |

Samsung S22D390HS 21.5in Widescreen LED Monitor 1920x1080 FHD 5ms 1000:1 HDMI VGA
Cons:-Poor Color-Poor Viewing angle-Poor Stand-No Height adjustment-No Pivot-No Rotation-TN Panel-HDMI and VGA only
Pros:+$99+1080P+No Dead Pixels+Matte Screen Comment:
Whelp, I bought a TN panel. Let me preface by saying I have following:U2713HM 27" IPS 1440PP2414H 24" IPS 1080PP2414H 24" IPS 1080PLong gone are the days when I bought TN panels. Well, I put together an upstairs office build (i3, 4GB etc) and was using one of my P2414H IPS monitors, but it was too big for the space. I came to a weak moment and bought this $99 Black Friday special as I figured it would be good enough for how little use the PC would be getting, and I didn't want to invest $200+ into a nice IPS. (I've had my eye on the P2214H for months but it hasn't budged in price)First off, the color and contrast out of box were set to 100! Really Samsung? I had to lower both to 25 for my eyes to even begin to not be strained, and I may have to lower it still. The vertical and horizontal colour shift are absolutely horrible, my previous blue Windows background is now Blue, Aqua and Green. It's got no Height Adjustment, so right now I look like the Hunchback Of Notre Dame until I find a thick book to prop it up onto. I can't even imagine a monitor bigger than 22" with a TN panel, it's probably the definition of a living hell. I hadn't realized the extent to which I was spoiled by my wonderful IPS panels. At this point, the only nice things I have to say it that it came with no dead/stuck pixels and that it has a Matte screen finish.People, please listen. Buy a nice IPS panel! You spend 100% of the time on the computer staring at the monitor, so invest in a high quality IPS screen. You may not think it's a big deal, but the difference is drastic and shocking.Aaah much better, Brightness & Contrast now at 18%..I'm starting to feel like my cornea isn't going to detach now. Samsung S22D390HS 21.5in Widescreen LED Monitor 1920x1080 FHD 5ms 1000:1 HDMI VGA
Cons:No height adjustmentNo DVI outAnnoying blinking led when in standby
Pros:Great ColorsNice viewing anglesClear Picture Comment:
Bough this as a bundle for $200 which is a great deal for these great monitors. Very nice quality. Highly recommend these. The lack of height adjustment was a bit of a setback (had to put on top of stuff) but not a big issues. However the fact that it only has a VGA and HDMI but no DVI was a bit more of an issue since it comes with a VGA cord (no DVI adapter) and I had to buy an additional HDMI cord so I can hook both of them up to my GTX 970A minor thing that can be fixed with tape is the annoying blinking of the power light when the monitor goes to standby.Overall very good monitors for gaming/video/web-browsing etc... |

Samsung S22D390HS 21.5in Widescreen LED Monitor 1920x1080 FHD 5ms 1000:1 HDMI VGA
Cons:None (would be nice if bezel was thinner?)
Pros:Dirt cheapAngles and colours are greatLots of picture and colour options in the menuSlim and thin design (square base unlike photo) Comment:
Just bought this as I was in a market for a 22" to 24" monitor for my new desktop. For $100, I'm very impressed. No issues as far as I can see with mine. Angles and colour looks great, lots of picture and colour options in the menu, nice and thin design (stand is square as opposed to the oval in the photo, adjustable angle), etc. HDMI and VGA input with speaker input for those using HDMI input.Only gripe I have which is more of a personal nitpick is that I wish the bezel was thinner. It's about 23mm from the bottom/top of the screen to the edge and 18mm from the left/right of the screen to the edge.Glad I passed on the LG 23MP75HM (which I was looking at previously) and got this instead. Highly recommend this monitor. |
4 stars - excellent monitor and would definitly purchase again. I honestly can't give the monitor enough praise. the build quality of the stand is sub par and doesn't deserve full five stars. It is about what you would expect from a major company like samsungEdit - NCIX proces vary lots these days - this monitor is worth 99$ to me. fyi This review was modfied by poster @ 03-28-15 03:22 PM
