Samsung SL-C460FW Colour Multifunction Laser Printer w/ NFC & WiFi P/C/F/S 19/4PPM 2400X600DPI USB
Cons:toner this unit ships with.
Pros:Colour Lazer, Wifi, Fax, small footprint Comment:
Good performance as a home unit, could work as an all-rounder in a small office. I hate the starter toner these ship with-roughly half the output as retail. |

Samsung SL-C460FW Colour Multifunction Laser Printer w/ NFC & WiFi P/C/F/S 19/4PPM 2400X600DPI USB
Cons:Manual duplex printing is a bit of a pain as it requires removal of the paper feeder tray.Toner cartridges are pricey, but that's pretty typical for these kind of units.
Pros:Everything one needs for a home office all-in-one.Easy to use software.Quiet operation.Feeder for scanner is a nice option to have and allows for scanning legal sized pages. Comment:
This unit is replacing two machines and I find it to be a very decent buy for under $200. It warms up quickly and is much quieter than the HP printer it is replacing. The scanner feeder is very handy for multiple page scanning or faxing. On a side note, this thing sucks current big time when warming up. I had to put it on a different circuit than the desktop as it would cause the UPS to kick in on under-voltage whenever it started! |

Samsung SL-C460FW Colour Multifunction Laser Printer w/ NFC & WiFi P/C/F/S 19/4PPM 2400X600DPI USB
Cons:Getting the software to work was tough, it took 2 days of crashes and troubleshooting to get it to work. Scanning software has always been tough to get right and Samsung should work on getting it right.I really think even home printers always need 2 trays and minimum 500 page capacity, when are they going to just admit home and small office printers are frustrating with a 100 page single tray system.
Pros:All of these features actually work! I'm using Windows 7. On sale for $229.00Scans 8.5in x 14in (legal size) with the document feeder.Prints to legal size paper.Prints from my Android Phone (Nexus 5) super easy.Scans to PDF file.Scans directly to USB Stick. You can scan from the control panel without having to do anything with your computer and the control panel lets you select all the options for the document like colour, resolution, size, destination, etc.Scans and prints look very good.Small footprint. Comment:
The flatbed is only 8.5 inches by 11 inches and that firmly puts it in the home scanner category. The document feeder will scan 8.5 inches by 14 inches size however so maybe that is all you will need. This printer comes without the document feeder so beware if you need the Legal size scanning. Now that it is working this is amazing for my home office, the ability to scan and copy from the printer control panel without having to fiddle with the computer is exactly what I hoped for since I am so used to my printer at work just churning out PDF documents to email or store on the server I can't live without it, nobody wants faxes they want high quality PDF's in there email. |
I bought this for one of our sales guys at one of our offices. Set up was super easy. After reading one of the reviews on here I was expecting the worst. I installed the drivers through windows without a disk and it was fast and it worked great. Perhaps the person who had issues was trying to install it with downloaded drivers. I just let Windows (7 64 bit) do it's thing and all was well. Scanning worked, not super quick but when is it? Color reproduction was pretty good but, to be fair, it all depends on the paper as many of you know.As with most printers the starter toners are a joke. Even the purchased toners have only 1000 page capacity for 80 bucks! Really? What a scam! Toner is probably close to the value of gold and these companies want it that way. To be fair, that's probably why we can pick up fairly good quality printers for relatively low prices; they know they'll make their bones on toner.I can't speak to the reliability of the unit as it's only been in service for a couple of weeks but no complaints out of the gate is a good sign.We paid about $210 for the printer and at that price I would definitely recommend it. For the regular price? I just don't think it's worth 400 clams. Between 200 and 275 is pretty fair.
