Samsung UN46ES6100 46IN 120HZ 1080p LED Smart TV
Cons:- Samsung Remote App for iPhone doesn't seem to work very well, it disconnects as I am using it.- Auto brightness adjust/Energy Star brightness (uses a light sensor) can be annoying at times as it will make the picture almost too faint to see. I have this TV in front of a window and I had to keep curtains closed or it will be too dark too see. This is an unusual situation as most people wouldn't put the TV there though, so I won't subtract any stars for it.
Pros:- AWESOME picture quality, especially compared to other TVs in similar price range.- Solid stand, looks good (reminds me of Cylon Basestar haha).- Lots of software features (Skype/Netflix/Facebook).- Is able to play photos/music/video shared over the network (using Windows Media Player) or from a USB drive (tested Xvid and MP4 and they both work, haven't tried MKV yet). |
Bought this on sale ($899.99) at Mississauga store. Was originally looking at LG 47LS5600, but it and other LG 120Hz models had this weird motion "judder" which bothered my eyes, my parents have 2 Samsung 6000 series and neither of them have that so I decided to go with this instead. Overall I am extremely pleased with this TV, the quality is great and the border around the screen is tiny (I hate large "picture frame" borders on TVs). I currently have it connected to my PS3 and a HTPC both via HDMI. TV updated itself when I first turned it on as part of an initial "set up" (wireless and wired are both available). This is a perfect TV for someone like myself who wants a great panel/good looking and thin TV without that 3D nonsense.
