Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 650MHZ 512MB 800MHZ DDR2 PCI-E VGA 2DVI-I HDMI Low Profile Video Card
Cons:
Can get hot due to no fan. Need good case airflow.
Pros: DX 11, HDMI port, decent price, low power consumption, quiet. Comment:
Bought this for my HTPC so I could have an HDMI port. I had a PCI card right below, less than a q quarter inch from it's heatsink. It over heated and locked up my machine after 30 minutes of 720 video playback.I removed the PCI card below it, and it idled at 66 C. Added a 92mm case fan to blow in at it and it now idles at 62 c and 68 for HD video playback and will not overheat. Runs ok now, but have not tried it for any 3D games. If you have a big case with good airflow it should be fine though. Might get hot like mine in a cramped mATX case. Mine is being used in an Nmedia 1000B HTPC case with one 90mm exhaust fan, 2 X 60mm exhaust fans and one 92mm intakefan . |
This is a decent card for the money, however remember this is an entry level video card so do not expect it to play the latest games at the maximum quality settings. This is the perfect card for the occasional gamer who plays non-graphic intensive games. Works great for bluray playback as well.
