Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120MM Case Fan 3000PM 36.5DBA 83.0CFM
Cons:Can get noisy at RPMS above 2200, no PWM native capability but can be made into PWM
Pros:Excellent construction, high speed, moves a lot of air, great for radiator use, and can be silent at lower RPMs |

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120MM Case Fan 3000PM 36.5DBA 83.0CFM
Cons:needs to be undervolted through 7 volt molex mod to tame noise
Pros:High static pressure, good airflow, cheap when on sale Comment:
Great fan however must undervolt otherwise noise is unbearable.7 volt molex mod is very easy however some dont like the hassle |

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120MM Case Fan 3000PM 36.5DBA 83.0CFM
Cons:- really loud at full speed- draws power from molex
Pros:- great fans- push lots of air Comment:
I bought these fans to push through air to my radiator and boy do they ever push air. They're just too loud at full speed :( |

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120MM Case Fan 3000PM 36.5DBA 83.0CFM
Cons:36 DBA is no exaggeration
Pros:Very high speed (3000 RPM +/- 20 RPM) Comment:
The humming from this machine is bearable when placed under a desk but could drive you insane if you don't plan to use a fan controller or dynamic fan speed control features from your motherboard. Other than that, works as prescribed. On my current setup keeps my Corsair H100 radiator cool with CoreTemp reporting a max temperature on load of my CPU at around 50-55 Celsius. |

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120MM Case Fan 3000PM 36.5DBA 83.0CFM
Cons:noise
Pros:Solid Build, great as radiator fans Comment:
this does an exellent job as a radiator fan, but needs to be tamed with a fan controller. |
I bought one of these from NCIX and am very happy with it. It is different from the lower speed AP14/AP15 fans in that it has a rigid connecting ring that spans all the fan blades and it has seven blades versus nine. It also doesn't have the "sawtooth" leading edge on each blade. These aren't huge differences but it does make the fan a tiny bit louder at the same revolutions. Otherwise it moves more air for the noise it makes than any other fans outside the slower Gentle Typhoons and Be Quiet! Silent Wings 2. I modified my fan to add PWM. This is accomplished by replacing the 3-pin header with a 4-pin PWM header, and connecting the "control" wire to the C solder point, removing the signal wire from the original 3-pin motherboard header, and re-connecting it into the 4-pin PWM connector. Finding where to connect these is easily found online. By doing this I can use the fan and adjust the speed all the way down to 1400 rpm using an Asus mobo fan header. Since doing that I am absolutely in love with this fan, and the motor noise is low too. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-13-14 08:51 AM
