Scythe Gentle Typhoon 92mm Fan
Cons:none
Pros:cool and quiet Comment:
This is a very quiet fan and it works just as great as other Scythe products that I have. I use it as a front intake fan in my Silverstone HTPC case and it pushes enough air to keep my HDD cool. |
Gentle Typhoon is a relatively unknown model in Scythe's celebrated line of silent but powerful fans, and it lives up to the Scythe reputation. This was used as a 92mm intake case fan for an Antec NSK3480. The impeller is quite large but it pushes a decent amount of air and at 7v it still does not raise its voice above that my Yate-Loon 120mm.My only beef with it is that full depth screw holes means mounting can be hard. With my Antec, the fan mount's holes were too small for the included non-tapping screws. I imagine that silicone fasteners would also be incompatible.
