Operates excellent. Not certain about the overall performance as I haven't accomplished any benchmarking with it yet. So far it seems to be slightly more quickly than the SATAII's I have, but not substantially. Value. Bought this for a new make that supports SATAIII and usb 3.. Windows scored it a 5.9. Not positive if it's as rapidly as it ought to be. Certainly not seeing 6gb/s speeds, but it seems to be fast none-the-less. I'd advocate sticking with SATAII till SATAIII costs come down a bit or just go with SSD if you care that substantially about speed.

Fantastic HDD for the income - is quickly and quiet. Very very good four the dollars. The hard drive would not let me just set up a OS from out of the box. I had to Low Level Format that sucker for it to except my OS and after an added 1 or so i was capable to run it adequately. I don't know why some demand this and other individuals do not. I dedicted 1 egg four this hassle. Do not think about the drive DOA if the blue screen of Death appears with the message 'If this is the very first time for this screen to seem reboot and examine your hardware.' Just try the low lever format and it really should clear up. Very same with errors on the formating approach when installing the OS. A single pass of the Military Spec Low Level Format will repair this correct up.

Low Price Its not a SSD. I bought 4 of these for a four drive RAID set up with my ASUS SATA 3 MB.1 single drive scores 5.9 on the Windows Encounter Index.2 in RAID nonetheless scored five.9.4 in RAID improved the score to 6.3.Not confident what a SSD rates but I consider this is quite good for the price taking into consideration four of them add up to a 640 Gig Drive.

It's inexpensive. You get what you pay for. Slow. I highly doubt it's a correct SATA III rev. Ɩ gbps transfer rates) This drive is not read/writing at the speeds it's supposed to be read/writing. We all know Windows Encounter score is a joke, but soon after days of testing/tweaking I cant obtain outcomes that should be feasible from a SATA III rev. On Passmark benchmark computer software I'm only achieving 1Ǚ the read/write time of comparable HDD's. Yes, I know it's limited by the speed of the mechanical parts, but it must be in a position to obtain additional.

Comment:
low-cost two out of 3 worked. 1 was DOA. Can't create a 3 drive raid array with 2 drives...don't really feel like waiting a week or far more to set up method. Have had very bad experiences with Seagate's drives for about five years now. Last one I purchase. Similar performance as an array of SATA 3. Gb/s. No better.

I've been buying these drives forever. The work great and are very reliable. I've always trusted Seagate and so far they haven't let me down. Good choice for cheap storage. Performance/speed wise, you could get better, but for the price you can't complain!
