Cons:
It's not really a weakness persay, since it's for my parents and they only use outlook/excel/solitaire. It probably won't see 20gigs ever. Needed to replace a 10gb ide though since the 200mb left warning kept popping up.
Pros: Dead silent. $40 on sale (Pm'd). Faster than the old piece. |

Cons:
had 80GB IDE Maxtor masters in six desktop systems for over seven years. Shortly after Seagate consumed Maxtor, I purchased four of these devices from NewEgg for insurance purposes. When the Maxtor drives finally gave up I replaced them with the Seagate drives. One of them crashed within eight months, two sputtered out within four months and the last one was DOA. With six systems to maintain, it was a giant pain in the rear. All the drives had outdated serial numbers therefore no warranties.
Pros: Its a drive and as soon as I opened it I dropped it about five feet it hit the ground and bounce. Understanting how HDD works the look on my face was complete shock. The drive was for someone eles and works great although I droped it. It still works today. Comment:
I switched to refurbished 74GB, 10,000 rpm WD Raptor SATA drives (the real ones) and never looked back. Thanks for nothing, Seagate. |

Installed in a friends pc. Old P3 with 2 GB HD before. No issue, works great. I find its very quiet compared to some other HDD. Probably will get another one if I ever need to replace other HD in computers that dont large HD. I paid in the 60$ range, even cheaper now. ;-) |

The last of a dying breed. It seems mechanical hard drives are being forced upon us in massive sizes and the little ones are dying way over priced. It's sad that the industry is the way it is.Anyways, great seagate quality. Should be about $20. No problems besides that. |

A very solid harddrive, just not the best price/capacity ratio. Also, its IDE, so not nearly as fast as my SATA drives, but unfortunately i needed an IDE drive. This is recommended for older systems and with a 5 year warranty, hopefully in a few years they won't have 80GB IDE drives anymore and you get something better. Still, it does the job nicely. |

Capacity is about right for the computer user who mainly does word processing and emailing -- hard to find new hard drives with smaller capacity. Very good performance so far after daily usage. Haven't filled to full capacity yet, but works fine at 60% capacity. |
It was a learning experience, cloning the old drive onto this one, messing around with all ide HD"s and ide CD drives. What a zoo. Things install much faster, and you can now do 2 things at once instead of only one thing! woohoo.
