Rapidly, quiet and trustworthy(?) Have had these for around two years or so and they have served properly. Just this week though 1 lost its partition table. No idea what happened, but I was in a position to rebuild the table so all is effectively. I am reserving 1 egg however as I am not sure it was the drive's fault. Time will tell. Except for above, none. A single reviewer for a diverse drive mentioned to keep away from using the UPS no cost shipping as they drop parcels up to 6 feet, and recommends using Fed x rather. This is worth a chuckle. All the significant mail services toss parcels(unless they are quite heavy) in the sorting. To think that Fed X handles each and every one particular gently is laughably naive. The sheer volume the firms receive make it impossible to gently pick up and lay down each parcel. Their gonna get tossed into hampers and other gear. Its up to the shipper to make confident they are correctly packaged to withstand this. A couple of vendors don't abide by this and I under no circumstances order something from them that is sensitive to shock- don't want to name anybody, but their names start with amaz and tiger. :) |

None Lasted just extended enough for windows to initialize the drive. Upon reboot, got click of death. Drive is nonetheless observed by the BIOS, but not under windows or windows disk management. Click-Click-Click-Click. I have a Seagate NS drive that has been flawless for years (that I got here at newegg) but the Seagate AS drives have been much less than stellar. In all fairness, I ought to say that I have gotten dead WD drives, also. |

Runs at a very good temperature below load, good efficiency for the cash. Stable so far.. (I've had other 7200.12 drives for more than a year with no troubles at all) None, for the price. I have utilised at least 10 7200.12 1tb drives, four 500gb, and now this new 320. None of the other people have failed me yet. It's not a performance drive, or an energy saver made to run cool.. but it's not slow and it doesn't run hot. Good value imho. |

Make good paper weights. Of the four drives that I bought two have failed in less than a month. Intelligent does not find the failure and the seagate tools say absolutely nothing is incorrect yet when utilizing Linux bootable to test the drive there were a high number of failed sectors. Skip a common drive and appear at SSD for the OS and some massive 1TB for storage. Newegg has actually changed how they ship drives, all the drives had been well packed in cardboard sleeve and bubble wrap. I do not believe the failures are connected to shipping but an situation with the drives. All drives were utilized in raid Ư |

Arrived on time with no obvious defects. It was a replacement for a previous DOA tricky drive I received a week prior. Installed windows XP devoid of any problem. The drive seems to operate just fine... but windows XP only recognizes 120gb as an alternative of 320gb. I installed a dual boot with Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.04... works excellent, I really like Linux for web surfing. Nevertheless, my concern is that the Linux OS really will read the complete 320gb challenging drive although windows only reads 120gb. |

Extreamly Rapidly with the 16 megabyte cache and really low access time. Really high capacity at a incredibly and low reasonable price tag. Additional dependable than some of the terabytes in it's class. It's a tough drive, you never know how long it will last. I absolutely recommend this drive for custom built PCs and for servers, Seagate is 1 of the leading manufacturers in fast high-capacity lengthy lasting drives. |

-Quiet-Quickly-Reputable-Lightweight Seagate recently dropped their warranty down to 3yrs. :( It applied to be 5yrs on all of their items. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Of course if a piece of hardware isn't DOA and it makes it past the initial few months, it's not real likely that its gonna fail just before you will need an upgrade anyway. I have applied Seagate virtually exclusively for a few years. I've had a couple of defective/DOA units (happens with every manufacturer) but no failures. And Seagate tends to make it genuine uncomplicated, quick and basic to get those DOA/defective units repaired/replaced. |

Price was great with rebate. I could not get Windows (XP or 7) to boot from this drive. It was the oddest issue simply because the drive would function fine as a secondary drive if the operating technique was on a diverse drive. The only issue I could come up with was the boot sector ought to have been corrupt although formatting/disc utilities could not come across a challenge. Initial time I ever came across this in my a lot of builds. I thought about RMA'ing the drive, but considering that it worked nicely as a secondary drive, I did some re-arranging and am now working with this as a secondary drive as an alternative of the main boot drive it was meant to be and it is operating well. Just believed I would leave an FYI just in case any person else has the concern, it could save a few hours of troubleshooting! |

Great challenging-drive, installed into a Windows Pc running Windows 7 -bit). No driver difficulties. Also came with excellent packaging. Saw a slight scratch on the surface. But absolutely nothing that need to prevent challenging-drive efficiency. Ordered this as a replacement drive to a Western Digital for an RTM.**This is not my difficult-drive. It was ordered for a client. |

Bought this to replace a five year old boot drive that was dying a slow death on me. Read/Write times are still going strong 1+ year operating. At the time price/GB was greater, but hindsight is 20ተ and necessity trumps thriftiness. Wish I'd gotten something a tiny bigger; with XP, 7, Ubuntu, and Gentoo on this thing, it's starting to get a tiny crowded. |

My mobo detected it. Read/Write errors. Can't format it. Can't put an OS on it. Essentially can't do anything except know that it's there. This is my initially develop. I've only bought a difficult drive as soon as before this and it was a Seagate. That was five years ago and it worked fine. I am pretty disappointed and have read a lot of negative evaluations about these drives which tends to make me uneasy. I suppose I will have to try and RMA it. |

Bought this item "Open Box",got an outstanding deal on the cost. Was seriously uneasy purchasing a HDD open box.Installed easily sufficient, downloaded drivers and tools software program, ran the software program and presto, nice capacity drive for my grandpa of a sys.Has worked flawlessly due to the fact install. Can't fault New Egg or Seagate but it did not come with software program or cable.I knew this going in so it was no large deal but would be good if the Egg chose to throw in a affordable SATA II cable to go with the drive. If your thinking about obtaining a single go ahead. This drive has operated without a hiccup.Soon after 11 years of builds and only working with WD drives,I will at least give Seagate a look. |

This is the initially ST3320418AS I have bought. Purchased a single for the studio which I been engineering for. Hopefully issues start out actually taking off in the New year of 2010. Seagate is quite reliable, mechanically it is engineered quite nicely. Please do not invest in any Hitachi drives, I do not. They are not reliable, and have mechanical failure all the time. I have been operating on a lot of Computer's lately, and its something else when dealing with the Hitachi Hard Drives. I trust my Data on Seagate and Western Digital Drives. Also Samsung drives are pretty nice as properly. I have applied other drives too, that aren't actually on the market place anymore. Maxtor which pretty Seagate took more than, and Quantums. |

Functions excellent as a raid device Nothing seriously...I didn't get it for less costly. Purchased it one particular week before it went on sale. Was bummed about that, but what can you do?! LOL. |

I have two of these running in Raid on a windows 7 MCE htpc box and have not run into any problems for over 1 year. This machine will turn off the HDD's to save power, but this is a continuous duty machine. Advised. The only factor slowing these down is the throughput on my configuration. |
Operates as a HDD need to.Got it for 37 dollars. None Love Seagate for years.
