Comment:
Great speed for a 5400 rpm, quiet....price tag is really low cost for a two TB drive No difficulties as of nevertheless I now personal two of these two TB tough drives and got each for 79.99. Nice cost....dont really fully grasp all the negative critiques you see on right here. If you know what you are shopping for there shouldnt be problems. Its a 5400 RPM drive, its truly not meant for an operating technique even though I do know some who do use it for that and nevertheless have no difficulties. I use both of mine as backup drives. I have had each internal and in enclosures with no problems. Briefly loud when awoken but still very quiet. I am actually thinking about purchasing another a single of these drives. No complaints here!!! I do have windows 7 installed on 1 of them and have temp applied it as a primary op program and had no troubles.

High capacity, if I could use it. Two of these drives started having sector failures as soon as they were plugged in.One particular had two,780 unrecoverable sectors, the other just clicks and clicks and clicks, you can read/write, but not incredibly fast. Out of the three Seagate drives I have bought not too long ago Ƒ.5 x1, and 2. x2) all have failed. The 1.5 right after a week, the two.'s appropriate away. Sad.

High Capacity, Rapidly enough, Low-cost. Excellent for Videos/Storage/Backup/External. Would not pass this by for the rates they go for! have had about 8 of these and only 1 started to have a smart error but returning it to seagate was no dilemma following backing it up onto an additional 2tb seagate(xcopy works fantastic). Retailer everything you want!

Quiet, does what its supposed to, low-cost. Performs wonderful! so far nothing regardless of many customers' critiques. Is encased in Sunbeamtech usb three. and runs smoothly granted I do not keep the drive on all day/night, only when I need it. Study TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR SHLIT! Electronics weren't invented to run 24ǝ.

Inexpensive, significant drive, very small additional operate necessary to install - compared to the 3TB drives. None so far This is the third a single I've added to my WHS (the other two have been running for more than a year). Zero difficulties and it runs 24ǝ. I assume it's about time to add one particular far more although they're on sale!

Purchased two of them. A single is operating fantastically and is presently receiving all of my information as a backup from a different drive. A little loud, but works fine. The second drive doesn't perform at all. Made loud clicking noises right after getting plugged in and gave me a kernel panic. Sending back now. Was sort of expecting it based on the great deal, but worth a attempt.

It's low cost. It's low-cost, my drobo array stated it was poor. Not certain why, was disappointed. Western digital from now on. Sorry Seagate, I will implore my wife to sell her stock, first your stock plumets and now you make poor tech. For shame.

Low price, quick transfers and low RPM None so far I purchased four of these, 1 of which was a combo deal with my Netgear ReadyNAS. I have them in a 4-bay RNDU4000 NAS device, formatted as a RAID5 volume giving me a tiny below 6TB. I've had the complete point operating 24x7 for a month now, and have had zero troubles. The average temperature for the drives is from 30-35 degrees celcius. I've noticed information transfers as fast as 95MB/s from this setup, but also as slow as 20MB/s when I'm copying a bunch of modest files.

It's a excellent storage drive. Low power, and normally reputable. I've got a number of these drives and they are all fantastic. The only problem I had, was one of the drives had a crushed power connector on it. I'm not certain if it happened in the course of shipping or if it was shipped out like that, but thats the only reason I gave four eggs. If this was shipped out from Newegg with a broken power connector, that's poor enterprise. Now to go by means of the return course of action with Newegg....I hope this goes properly. Overall, I really like the Seagate drives. I'm getting a number of drives now, and then later this year will get a RAID array to place them all in, for backup purposes. Yay!

I have applied this model drive on several builds. It is a excellent, responsive drive. 1 build is more than a year old now, and no troubles however. Runs cool and runs silent. Individuals who claim this is "too slow." They should be on crack. Listen, it works fine. You don't need a 7200 RPM version, unless you a expert working with Autocad, and if you are doing that, you ought to be using a raptor anyway.

Works fantastic, 30-40 MB/s transfer speed, price Unformatted. I knew this, but it is Incredibly hard to format through Windows. I had to hook it up through Linux in order to do it. If you don't have Linux, go to their site and download their formatting tools. This is an outstanding HDD and I have really few complaints. I returned the initially 1 I got mainly because I Believed it was DOA, but really, it was just unformatted and neither Windows or Linux would mount it. Just keep in mind to run some kind of partitioning tools initially. If it nevertheless doesn't operate, then it's a dead HDD. I consider a lot of folks believed they had DOAs since of this.

Performs properly, inexpensive, lots of storage area. Quiet as soon as CC35 firmware was installed. Strategy on adding a HDD fan (VANTEC HDC-502A) cooler soon. Tricky firmware update for me. Believed I had the click of death the moment I started out the computer system. As soon as computer system booted, I had to go into disk management to initialize the drive and format it. Used Seagate's disk detect and located CC34 firmware. Wanting to update to CC35 so I did the following located in "other thoughts". The crucial for me was to hit Ctrl+C in the main menu NOT following the failed install like instructed on the Seagate forum. If your drive won't auto-install the firmware like mine did and you want to update to CC35, do the followingɅ.Boot from ISO CD. (Find the ISO on Seagate's web page)two.Read disclaimer, press ESC once read.three.On the choice screen (where you can attempt an auto upgrade) press [Ctrl] + [C] to break to the command line. four.Press [Y] on the keyboard to confirmfive.Kind the following, then press enter:FDL486A -m Hepburn -f HECC358H.LOD -i ST32000542AS -s -x -b -v -a 206.The firmware flash process will start. As soon as prosperous you will see the prompt.7.Power down the machine

Cheap..... i owned four seagate hardrives 160GB, 400GB, 1TB, 2TB, and Every single SINGLE A single OF THEM FAILED. FAILED. FAILED. FAILED.every single one of them was maxed out with information, and i lost all the data on all of them. the newest a single the two TB lasted 3 weeks extremely poor consumer service immediately after a lot of rambling they decided to send me an additional 2TB to transfer my data and send them the defective a single. but they had to take my credit card in case i'm gonna run away with the miserable one they are going to send....that was three weeks ago and yet the HD did not arrive i contact them up and they said that the HD is stuck in customs. go freaking figure a corporation as huge as seagate does not have a 2TB difficult drive lying about in the united states. all in all i know that no transferring of any information is going to happen and i will just finish up sending them the defective a single

Functions great in my file server! Spins up rapid and is quite quiet. The drive is formatted utilizing ufs profile and is everything i could ask for of it! Small click when in a long although but i think that is due to the way my server makes use of it.

Low cost. Was moderately rapid for a green drive 鲮MB/s burst, Avg 80-90MB/s) Worked for roughly 18 hours ahead of the clicking began, along with the errors. Immediately after that, it was toast. I was lucky to get something I put on the drive back off. To all those who got excellent drives, very good for you. But there are still a large amount of us that received defective drives. And in response to a comment produced by george, no, I did not try and copy 2TB all at when to the drive. I didnt even copy half that significantly to the drive. And even then, it was performed in little stints, and not all at as soon as. Didnt matter, the drive still failed. And my case that this was in only has 6 case fans. So what. Its nonetheless good and cool on the inside. Anyway, IMO, these are worse then then 7200.11 Barracudas. I got a single of them as nicely, and just got performed RMAing it for a refurb drive and whilst its working, I cant say Im fully confident in it anymore. Either way, I got a refund for this drive and got the Samsung F4 2TB for 90 bucks. Hopefully, it turns out a lot greater. I had high hopes for the drive, irregardless of the critiques, but it just didnt reside up to my expectations. In the finish, no matter what caused it to fail, I still ended up with a negative drive.

Now that I have a operating unit, it performs as expected, albeit a bit slower than my Samsung F4 2tb drives. I bought this initially on a black friday deal from the egg. The initial one threw a ton of negative sectors within ten minutes of formatting it and starting to copy files to it. I sent it in for an RMA and the second drive I got had the identical concern but created it about 25 minutes. This is not the standard Seagate top quality that I have been applied to given that I personal more than 25 challenging drives and half of them are seagate drives (of varying size.) I do, after the second RMA have a working drive and it stable. I don't trust it to be in my file server so I use it as a sneakernet (external) drive to shuffle files amongst computer systems at different locations. I recommend waiting till they come out with a new model. This a single appears to have some flaws. Generally seagate is stellar with cutting edge tech but this a single is a miss.

Low-cost Drive! Effortless installation. Tons of space! No cord, no absolutely nothing truly. You get your drive wrapped in a static free plastic cover and some bubble wrap. Only factor bummed me out is I had to run out for a cord. Not a enormous deal and maybe this is the norm. I guess for the price tag though it was a great deal. Drive is a tiny on the slow side, but I don't believe most people will even notice. As lengthy as the drive holds out I'm gold! I've seen allot of negative evaluations saying the drive has shown up dead or starts clicking immediately after a week and so fourth. But I have yet to have a Seagate drive go out on me. I have owned 4-5 and all of them nevertheless operate. Even an old 40gigabyte 1. I've had a WD go out on me and about 3 or 4 Maxtor drives go poor.

Huge, stable, and cool for an outstanding value. Even though I wouldn't use a single for a sys drive, they make excellent storage drives. I am about to set up a third into my array, despite the neg reviews this drive seems to be receiving lately. I hope there are not production issues! Only what I read here really hurts my opinions on this drive!!!! I am somewhat superstitious, so I might be setting myself up!!!
