Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
slower than most 7200 rpm drives but at the price you can't complain.
Pros: price is dirty cheap for storage space, with hd content the need for more storage is increasing. Comment:
Originally i price matched 5 of them on newegg, got rejected by NCIX, second round I Price Matched 4 of the with TigerDirect and they finally accepted after a few email exchanges.Product is good just service from NCIX these days is not as it use to be. I have read in forums most NCIX customers have gone elsewhere. If a competitor is selling it for less, match the price and keep moving on. |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
- First one I received was doing loud clicks and was actualy DOA. 95% bad sectors right from the start so I had to RMA.- Comes with firmware CC34 and you must upgrade it asap to CC35 but don't use the Seagate's windows based program or it will ruin ur MasterBootRecord and you will have to repair it through ur Window's dvd.
Pros: - 2TB is a lot of space to store pr0n- About 3C less than my WD Black 1TB 7200rpm.- Fast enough for a Data drive, you won't notice the diff compare to 7200 drives.- Cheaper than WD. See the summary for details. Comment:
Well so far my new drive from the RMA haven't done any bad sectors or loud click so I'm happy as far as it stays like that. I sold my WD 1TB Green to get this 2Tb drive. Paid 70$ during boxing day, otherwise the lowest it goes is 80$ on rare sales. |

Bought this during boxing day sales. Really good price. Should have bought these instead of WD green. I have 2 of those in my server and 1 already reporting lots of sector error. |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
nothing really...
Pros: huge space for cheap price Comment:
bought this hard drive cuz my other WD green 1TB drive is running out of space (kinda ironic). honestly, if you are looking for just storage drive, get this one instead of WD. I think it is actually pretty good (though it is my first time using a seagate drive) |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
None.
Pros: Quiet, cool running, no messing around with compatibility Comment:
I have five of these drives in my WHS box. I am happy to be done with the Green drives and their constant spin down causing access delays. These run cooler than the WD Green drives anyway. These drives run very cool, very quiet and the price per GB can't be beat, particularly when on sale. Sure they're only SATA 300 and are not advanced format with its attendant features but they're perfect for inexpensive network storage where the network (Cat 6 / gigabit) is the bottleneck. Highly recommended.Flash to version 35 firmware as version 34 is shipping. Then you're good to go. |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
Questionable firmware/reliability
Pros: Large and cheap and faster than older hard drives Comment:
I purchased 4 of these drives recently for a RAID10 setup. This system worked like a dream and I was able to sustain higher read and write speeds than the 4x500GB setup it replaced.Reports online suggest upgrading firmware to CC35 (these are CC34 for all the versions I purchased) for RAID purposes. Also had issue with one drive (the same one) falling out of RAID randomly requiring a rebuild. |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
Strange clicking sound when certain Monitoring programs run, nothing appears wrong, just strange.
Pros: The Capacity! Huge! Enough to fit all my Photos, Videos, Music, and Documents with plenty of space to spare. No problems whatsoever after 6 months of usage. Comment:
This is the best large capacity drive I have owned. It works well as a secondary drive for backup. Throughput has always been great and never had any issues with anything to do with this drive. I would buy more, but I still haven't filled the first! |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
no SATA3 support
Pros: large storage, good capacity Comment:
IN summary this is great as a storage drive only. I wouldn't run any OS from this hard drive as it would be too slow for anything of that nature. |

Pros: Best storage/price ratioHigh performance for 5900rpm driveWorks great for great RAID arrayQuiet, excellent power consumption Comment:
No complaints, great Seagate quality, quiet, fast, low power. Best price/capacity ratio around. No need to worry about advanced format performance issues in Linux like you do with WD drives. |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
noisier than WD LP drives, persistent clicking/clunking of heads (despite f/w CC35 upgrade)
Pros: runs cool, low power, low cost per GB, good NAS solution Comment:
Purchased 3 of these on special, great price/capacity ratio. Working fine as NAS storage drives (streaming media & backups), but spindle speed probably too slow for a high performance primary boot drive.Have been having issues with a loud clunking noise (heads parking/unparking) from time to time, had to force a f/w update from CC34 to CC35 (the f/w installer would not update automatically, had to manually force the update ), but the clunking noise persists...will have to see what Seagate says about this, and if they all need to be RMA'd or not, and if the noise indicates a potential for more serious drive issues down the line. Other than that, they are working fine (to date). |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
Died in the first week, hopefully just a fluke.
Pros: Large capacity, quick access over eSATA, relatively quiet. Comment:
Unfortunately the drive died the second time I went to use it. I had purchased it as a backup drive, and it worked right away the first time, and all of my files were transferred flawlessly. Two days later I connected it to my PC, and it wouldn't ever spin up. Completely dead. Very disappointed, but at least it's under warranty. |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
Louder than anticipatedHad to send one back...
Pros: CheapLots of storage spaceReliable (so far at least) Comment:
I bought 2 of these to put in a raid setup for all my movies and tv shows and things. After setting them up, one was giving me a loud clicking noise I didn't like, and after some investigating, I found it was failing the SMART hdd diagnostic test. I sent it back for a replacement from ncix, and have been relatively happy ever since. The two drives are a little louder than I might have wanted, since they're running on the LP moniker and i assumed they'd be a touch quieter. However in 4 months with them, other than the initial setback I've had no issues with them. Overall, if all you need em for is media storage, they certainly do the trick |

Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:
A bit big was kinda hard to put it in my case
Pros: Cheap, lots of space, doesnt take up lots of voltage Comment:
Over all the price is good id recoomend this hard drive to anyone that is on atight budget. Ive had this hard drive for a few days and it seems to be working good, no problems with it |
I bought one of these but am a little leery of the 2 drives that have failed on me - they were both Seagates. I know all drives fail eventually.
