Wonderful drive. Have five other HD's in my program. Ideal sequential read was 103 using CrystalDiskMark. This SATA3 drive does 40% much better. If 35% more rapidly signifies something to you, purchase 1. I am using this connected to a HighPoint Tech Rocket 620A SATA3 PCIe adapter. None Installed devoid of a hitch. Plugged in the bd. Plugged in the HD. Turned the personal computer on. Right after POST, Marvel SATA3 controller on the bd announced it located the 2T HD. Windows booted. I went to Disk Management and formatted the drive. All is fantastic.

Fairly quickly. Somewhat quiet. No setup problems. Tiny warm, but nothing at all intense. Installed in an HP Workstation, serving as a low-end server. Two of these RAID as a backup scratch drive just before migration to tape. RW seriously nicely. Owned them because August, no issues but.

Actually Quickly DRIVE!! AND I was capable to backup all my Data from the Seagate incredibly speedily -- to a Western Digital drive. Windows 7 was capable to detect that S.M.A.R.T had been triggered -- which indicates that the Seagate drive is about to take a DIVE. Therefore the backup ahead of the Seagate no longer operates at all. S.M.A.R.T began reporting errors. So the drive need to now be sent back to Seagate. So far acquiring an RMA number hasn't been as well poor. I had to run SeaTools which informed me the drive was failing and gave the error code for the Seagate return. I will let you know if I ever get the replacement drive Seagate has promised. Will write more when and IF i get a replacement drive. Time will tell.

Produced these two into a Raid0. Writes 225 mb/sec according to my capture software program. Wow!Thats adequate to bring in 720 HD, but nonetheless not enough for 1080 HD. Bare Drives This worked out to be a substantially considerably less expensive and much better selection than buying a incredibly smaller quick SSD to capture HD. In fact, I could not have purchased an SSD massive sufficient to do much more than a couple of of five minute captures at a time. It comes in at 10 GB per minute.

Lots of space, what do you expect from 1TB, the 6.0GB/s is for 6.0GB/s motherboards so dont be expecting to get great speeds unless you have it, for being so nice it's an ok price, not the ideal although. None Read the warranty very first simply because if it's DOA you require to know what to do. And if it dies immediately after a few days that's when you send it to Seagate. It just angers me when people are like, "Dont waste your dollars on this because it will die in a couple of days."

All seven drives arrived are now operational with no concerns. I have two of the drive's in a workstation and the other 5 are in QNAP TS-659 NAS. These drives where on the NAS Hardware Compatability List. Non so far but I have been having some negative luck with longevity on difficult drives lately. Ask me once again in a year.

This drive is quickly, don't believe the Windows7 score it sucks. Ran several benchmarks (sandra, seatools, parasoft, sisoft, on this drive and it enhanced performance by a 34% over my old standard 7200rpm barracuda. I've read individuals saying it runs a bit warm but I employed a NZXT temp/fan controller and it's reading about four-five degrees cooler than my old drive. Value is just a touch high but coming down, cheaper now than what I paid for it more than a month ago. I put a 128g samsung ssd in for my operating method and now I use this for backup, it's a great marriage.

Operate really fine at P5E, SataII, testing speed 85-130mb/s, real when transfer big files 100-124mb/s. Loud equivalent to old 500GB NS series. Testing, w/r/v, etc, but looks like all function fine. A single of them give strange noise at bootup, then function typical.

Fast, Fairly and Roomy as the assessment title states. I'm a genuine stickler for silence in my personal computer, and this a single does not disappoint. Two tetrabytes? I think that's sufficient area to hold every word ever recorded in Congress given that 1787 (not that I would want to read all of them). Rapidly? See other thoughts. None so far while I have come across 1 internet site written by geeks who say the thing may possibly not last since of a thin, plastic coating on the platters (?). In any event, it's been working flawlessly for nearly a month now. Superior have a motherboard with 6G capability to take benefit of the speed--3G ain't gonna' hack it. I formally had two Seagate 31000333as drives in a RAID array but sold them since they had been a small noisy when looking for. Just for entertaining prior to receiving rid of them I took out my stop watch and timed some events. From a clean boot, it took 12.two seconds to get to Word. With the 32000641, the very same test took 1.2 seconds. I assume I'll get one more one of these babies and hook them up in RAID to see what I can come up with as far as access instances.

Fast!!! like... incredibly Rapid!!! Maxes out the 3.0Gb/s SATA2 interface. I get 110MB/s constant transfer rates via SATA2. (the secret to the speed is the data density, the data is packed so close together which signifies it can spin much less and nevertheless read much more, which is specifically how this can outperform other 10k RPM drives) Not for storage. If you want storage get the 5900 RPM version, that 1 nevertheless does continuous 90MB/s which is Extraordinary for spinning that slow. Nevertheless this drive is WAY too advanced to be employed for storage!!!! Use this drive for Windows or System files. If you have a SATA3 raid controller and run a pair of these in RAID , what you get is 3.6TB equivalent of a Strong State Drive. No joke...!!! If you know anyone with a Raptor, show them your windows expertise index score for tricky drive transfer rates and watch them get picksed off!! LOL (you have to install windows on this drive to get the score, but chances are any person using a raptor has windows on it. If you have this drive, don't waste it by working with it for storage. Place windows on it unless you have a raid config currently.)

Was seeking for a high overall performance drive with low noise. As i live in an location exactly where it is generally silent all through the day, i terribly hated even little cracking sounds. Initially purchased a WD Caviar Blk , returned it ,was so noisy, then the WD RE4 Enterprise drive, returned for the very same cause once more, then lastly i got this 1. Runs super quiet, not even clicking sounds , awesome speed. Dint uncover any till now.

Properly I don't need also ridiculous of a speed to be happy with a drive... and have largely for a though now used the barracuda 1.5 tb 7200rpm drives which I will yell saying HAVE In no way LOST A DRIVE which no pun intended speaks volumes. This drive in uncomplicated-speak.. added .5tb and sped up network buffering/playback noticeably from what was currently a significantly good speed from the drives i was replacing. As far as read / write for a drive this size in this price range I wouldn't get any other drive.. only a single and its not really a con and was not on this certain invest in... but a single drive i had ordered looked a little bubbled at the seam of the outer shell of the drive, i was worried but it was underneath the black finish of the side of the drive which meant to me it was a visual flaw (not that massive a deal for an Internal HDD) and immediately after initiating testing an os install on it and test writing a 250GB write and capturing flawlessly to to it from a digicam to a blackmagic intensity device i would say that the testing department more than at seagate does a Good FRIGGIN JOB Interested in this* but spent also substantially funds on HDDs this month to make another HDD acquire solely for the purposes of testing alone and it's also new for eggs. Hopefully someone that has this drive and the Constellation of the similar capacity could do a side - by - side test of operations on the drives and let it be recognized if the extra 50% cost raise is worth it for this enterprise class drive. If you are that individual THANKS in advance.* Seagate Constellation ES ST32000644NS 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.five" Enterprise Internal Difficult Drive -Bare Drive-link-* http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148610

I purchased two of these. I was concerned after reading the reviews, but no complications at all. The seek time on the challenging drive to access files is slow. I assume it since these drives have two 1GB platters. Not a major deal, but a small delay when viewing files in windows explorer or the file open dialog.

five purchased for Synology DS1010+; five x 2T = ten Terabytes which translated to 7.2 in RAID 5, which is smaller than it really should be, likely due to my good friends's incorrect configuration. Also, Seagate shipped 1 wrong drive in right package (correct Bar Code; wrong product; go figure..) So far, no other problems. see above
