Nice and quiet. Hope they each final. I've had good luck with Seagate drives. Both passed Seatools diagnostics out of the box. Did not enable me to take more than the planet. However. Replaced two 80Gb Raid 1 system disks in a PowerEdge 1800 server operating 2003 server. The system is noticeably quieter. Utilized trusty ghost 2003 to repartition and clone a single old drive to one particular new, then recreated and rebuilt the mirrored array with each new drives. Worked like a charm. |

Rapid shipping two days for free ship These drives are impressive , 1st factor I noticed was the sheer weight of the drive , its twice as heavy as a common drive, very well made and these scream top quality created. Compaired to my old seagate 7200.12 500gb its twice as thick and more rapidly . ATTO benches 137mps . Windows boots actual quick , and I like the 32meg cashe minor con is expense , but in this case I would acquire again as your paying for far better quailty. Wish I had of purchased a different Bought one of the newer rappy drives and this a single comes in just 5mps lower then a ten,000 rpm drive and half the cost |

This drive can genuinely handle I/O. There were put beneath tremendous tension in a virtual infrastructure exactly where 19 ESX servers have concurrent connections to the storage with these drives in Linux RAID for NFS share. The drive activity LED doesn’t even blink and stays always lit, but the drives maintain going devoid of stalling (WD – pay attention right here!). N/A |

No poor sectors.Rapid driveWindows 7 boots up rapidly. none Purchased this to replace my 9 year old son's HD that had a bad master boot record. His old drive just wouldn't boot up any far more but I was able to pull the data from the drive so he wouldn't have to start off all over on some of the RPG's he's playing. |

Comment:
This drive is quiet and has tolerable speed for a 7200rpm model. The drive size is not really 500gb. Like all of the other HDD producers, the actual quantity of storage is 500,000,000,000 bytes, which converts to 465 gigabytes. It's not that I didn't anticipate this, but the loss from rounding makes a large difference as the drives continue to get larger. The manufacturers need to stop rounding incorrectly. Information doesn't round employing the decimal process; it utilizes multiples of 1024 among every prefix.500,000,000,000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 465.6612873077 I believe the producers should just list just about every conversion size on disks, not a rounded quantity. |

Newegg had my drives to my door in much less than 24 hours, Drives are extremely quiet and quickly and appears not to not run really hot following lengthy video edits. I had no troubles setting three of these drives up in a sort (stripe) raid in my Dell XPS 720. I have not identified a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Really should have bought 3 much more at the cost |
