Seasonic Platinum 1000 ATX 12V 24PIN 1000W Active PFC 80PLUS Platinum Modular DC to DC Power Supply
Cons:-Motherboard power cable is a bit on the short side for a full tower case with cable management.-Expensive.
Pros:Very quiet and excellent power delivery. High quality construction and lots of accessories. Comment:
Overall this unit delivers on what it promises. It delivers loads of power while making little to no noise. Seasonic provides a plethora of cables for every type of connection available. Lots of SATA connectors for multiple drives in different locations. The only thing I can possibly nitpick about is that the motherboard cable is a bit short to run through cable management on a full tower case, it still reaches, but the PSU had to be locked in place with the cable attached first. |

Seasonic Platinum 1000 ATX 12V 24PIN 1000W Active PFC 80PLUS Platinum Modular DC to DC Power Supply
Cons:The tears of joy it brought to my eyes got my keyboard wet.
Pros:Quality. Period. Comment:
I usually buy Silverstone or Corsair PSUs, and I have found both to be decent. I always wondered why the Seasonics were so much more money. I finally broke down and bought one after my Silverstone packed it in (I was lucky, it didn't hurt my mobo or i7-980 when it went). Now I see why they are so pricey. This thing oozes quality, is super quiet, and I am sure come summer time it will dispense Ice Cream Sundaes. Well maybe not the last one, but I am glad I bought it - it's nice to know I don't have to worry about that aspect of my system for a long time to come. |

Seasonic Platinum 1000 ATX 12V 24PIN 1000W Active PFC 80PLUS Platinum Modular DC to DC Power Supply
Cons:NONE
Pros:No coil noise, no hissing.Quiet. You can even run it fanless (with auto on on heavy load)! And of course, low heat. Thank you 92% efficiency! Comment:
I went to find a good power supply after mine started hissing with my new video cards. I thought first it was the cards but after close inspection I saw that the hissing came from the PS.I upgrade to this power supply after I read JonnyGuru's review. Basically the best power supply he has tested yet (he has over 230 units tested so far).No more hissing. This 1000W PS is smaller than my older 750W. Neat! And way quieter. |

Seasonic Platinum 1000 ATX 12V 24PIN 1000W Active PFC 80PLUS Platinum Modular DC to DC Power Supply
Cons:Expensive
Pros:Quiet, powerful, lots of cables, adjustable fan speed profile Comment:
Not much to say really, it's a great PSU and makes no coil whine or fan noises. I have this powering a Tri-Fire 6990+6970 build. Just put it in your case and you'll never have to worry about it again. |
There's only 3 Platinum 1000 Watt PSU's out there, and this is the one to get. Compared to the XFX, and ANTEC, it offers Seasonic reliability which is at the time of this review, the best PSU manufacturer out there. However, it doesn't mean the other manufacturer is bad, it's just not up to par with Seasonic; so you should always do a little research to see if you can save a few bucks for your needs from hardware reviewers. In the meanwhile however, I feel that I can use this PSU for years to come, my hope is that I can use it for 10 years at least. For those who's worried about the Power output for over the edge high end system, the power requirement for PC components will only get smaller as technology evolves. So give it a serious thought before you buy a 1200W 80+ Gold PSU
