Seasonic X-460FL ATX 12V 24PIN 460W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Cons:Not compatible with my Cooler Master case.
Pros:Absolute silence. Comment:
When selecting this PSU, be aware that you must have good ventilation above the unit. This meant I could not install it in my Cooler Master Sileo 500 case because it would be pressed hard against the foam lining in the top of the case and have no ventilation at all. Aside from that, I would have to cut the back panel to be able to plug in an AC cord because the socket is very close to the edge of the PSU and was partially obscured by the metalwork of the case. I won't return it though, I'll put it in another system. I have P182 and a Fractal Design XL cases where the PSUs mount at the bottom so it should work well. |

Seasonic X-460FL ATX 12V 24PIN 460W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Cons:Those are really nitpicking :- Really faint buzz if you put your ear really close (read: less than a foot) while the PC is under sleep. However I don't hear anything at all with the PC on or in standby so it's not a problem for me.- Both PCIe cables are joined to one big connector on the PSU side so if your video card has only one PCIe connector you'll have an unused PCIe cable to hide somewhere.
Pros:- Excellent build quality- Extremely efficient- Silent, no fan to die or swap for something else- Cool even at 50+% load with reasonable airflow- Decent cable management options- Great packaging- Two PCIe 8-pin connectors- Well, it's Seasonic Comment:
If you're tired of dealing with fan noise and do not want/need an overkill PSU this is among the best options out there IMO. 460W is actually well enough for a single-card midrange build; I use it with a stock i7 2600K / HD6950 system with two drives (1 SSD + 1 Green HDD) and with OCCT + FurMark running the worst I ever saw at the plug was 315W AC. Under normal gaming it hovers at around 200W and stays at 65W while idle. |

Seasonic X-460FL ATX 12V 24PIN 460W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Cons:Did not align well with screw holes.
Pros:Nicely packaged, silent, nice cables. Comment:
This is a nicely packaged power supply but could have done without the fabric bag, and reusable cable packages. Probably could have saved a few bucks. Anyways, this is a great unit from what I can tell... it's silent and seems to stay pretty cool. |

Seasonic X-460FL ATX 12V 24PIN 460W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Cons:I dont see it as a weaknesse but more wire for more hard drive etc..ofc need more watts. Other than that I dont have one.
Pros:SIlent, Silent, silent. Well made and not hot at all. One of the best buy of my last PC. Comment:
If you want silent PSU, it is the one you want. No fan and its not hot at all, at least for me. I dont use alot of fan in my case and everything stay cool. One of the best PSU I bought since now. Seasonic PSU mean quality, well made. 100% no noise. If they release a PSU fanless for gaming, Ill buy it, 100% sure. |

Seasonic X-460FL ATX 12V 24PIN 460W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Cons:none
Pros:Silent, runs cool, plenty of power for a quad core build. Comment:
I bought this for a DAW workstation and the most important thing is silence. This unit is completely silent and is the right tool for the job. I noticed a slight increase in case temperatures because of the lower airflow. I then added a Corsair H50 cpu cooler to exhaust the hot air out of the case (opposite direction than recommended) and it took care of the internal case temps. This unit is fairly expensive (~165$) but if you want silence it does that! |

Seasonic X-460FL ATX 12V 24PIN 460W Active PFC 80PLUS Gold Fanless Power Supply
Cons:
maybe 460 watts might not be enough for some gamers
Pros: no fanoperating temperature is very coolsilent80plus goldmodular cabling Comment:
seasonic has been a very high quality psu company, their products are of the highest quality in my books, and this psu is everything that i was expecting and more, it is silent (no fans), and doesnt produce much heat, 460watts is enough for me, i got a ok video card in there, but for those wanting to run sli or crossfire, might need a seasonic X750, otherwise this is an excellent psu for average user |
Dream has comme true! Perfect for a whisper quiet pc in a quiet room. Run it with the 2600k + hyper 212 evo and the HIS hd 6870. Barely noticable. Under stress, only the video card is signing, idle whispering. This psu/cpu/gpu combo just pass every stress bench i could find. Didnt add any fan in the Fractal Define R3, temps are good for me. This kind of psu will be installed in all my next gen pc. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-06-12 04:33 PM
