Sennheiser A200 Stereo Assistive Listening Headset
Cons:
- gets a little hot when running an internal drive inside of it, you can run the A-200 without the cover on the top and it helps it a lot, this is what I do.- doesn't do a very good job of making me breakfast in the morning before work
Pros: - powerful chipset- can install an internal hard drive- nice interface and also many 3rd party jukebox's- supports loads of codecs and containers, probably the most on the market, even HD audio |

Sennheiser A200 Stereo Assistive Listening Headset
Cons:
Can't play lossless audio files only if it's folder structure, very cheaply made, runs hot with or without a drive installed, cheap and noisy fan, Is not Gigabit equiped (it's 10/100)
Pros: Plays every time of format I could throw at it, Plays DTS-MA and Dolby Digital TrueHD folders, Low cost, has room for a hard drive Comment:
I stepped up to the Popcorn A-200 from a WD TV Live mostly for the gigabit networking option and the ability to play back lossless audio, neither of which ended up working as you'd expect but it's possible a firmware update could allow lossfile playback from files (such as as mkv). The A-200 has many networking options and is streaming over my Windows 7 network with ease. The processor is quite capable of handling Blu-rays without any slowdown. I've tested some high bitrate movies and they played back perfectly with full 1080p DTS-MA. I tested a WD Black 1TB and a WD Green 2TB drive inside this unit, I recommend putting a Green drive inside because it uses less power which means less heat. The A-200 will trap that heat and there are reports of units dying this certainly could cause that. Also, grab yourself a cheap Laptop cooler and slide it underneath the A-200. There are vents underneath the unit which normally are completely useless but a laptop cooler will blow some air into the unit and for me it has made a difference. The A-200 is a little buggy if you press buttons too quickly or when playing Blu-ray structures. Sometimes the controls stop working entirely and the "Pause" button will be displayed onscreen while it is playing and it isn't possible to stop the movie, only turning off the unit will fix it. This is a rare event and easily avoidable, also likely to be fixed with an update so I won't let it affect my score. Overall I am disappointed with how cheaply made this unit is but for all the capabilities and modding options it's hard to complain for such a good price. |

Sennheiser A200 Stereo Assistive Listening Headset
Cons:
1 - It's made of very light plastic and feels very fragile and cheap.2 - internal fan is a bit noisy and tend to vibrate.3 - for my taste its a bit to big, compared to players of the same type
Pros: I have been using this player for almost a month now. It plays almost anything you trow at it. Downmixing to stereo works flawlessly.. Comment:
I'm using it in bedroom and its slightly over-sized for the space I have allocated to it but it's still worth every penny. Functionality wise it works just as well as it's big brother C-200.I can't give it 5 star ratings due to cheap feel of the case and the built in fan. |
This is a top notch media player. It kills WD TV Live, Seagate, Asus, and any other media players in every aspect. Im buying this for my family who loved mine so much they wanted one of their own.
