Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:Open configuration

Pros:Great Sound
Comment:
Awesome sound for games and music, only down side is the open configuration, that means if there are people in the same room with you while you are gaming/listening to music they will most likely hear it. But the sound combined with a X-Fi sound card is Amazing!

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:- expensive- open design- large headphones

Pros:- great sound quality
Comment:
Very nice headphones, got them on sale for $135, but still felt they were a bit expensive. Sound leaks due to the open back design, so I can't use them in the office. Headphones feel like they're meant for someone with a bigger head/ears (but my head/ears are smaller than average...)

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:-expensive

Pros:-Sounds good-Comfortable
Comment:
I dont have the best hearing, but overall I can tell these are good. Biggest difference I notice is with winamp streaming music (I do not listen to lossless audio). Games seems a tad better, so do movies. I also find the cord gets tangled a tad worse then other headphones I use. At 135$ they were a tad expensive.

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:No isolation, so you can't use them in public.

Pros:Excellent sound quality, extremely comfortable, and quite durable to boot.
Comment:
These are absolutely excellent headphones. The sound quality is top notch - probably the best you can get for the price. Even serious audiophiles would be impressed by these headphones. They're extremely comfortable, and they're durable enough that you don't have to baby them completely. The only downside is that their open design means music is audible outside of the headphones at almost the same volume as inside them, so using them in public doesn't work very well. This is unavoidable for headphones of this style, though, and carrying big cans like these around would probably be too much bother for most people anyway. They're perfect headphones to hook up to your PC or stereo.

Cons:None whatsoever. Too big? Leaks sound in and out of the cans.

Pros:Sheer quality in all aspects.
Comment:
These headphones are terrific. They are extremely comfortable, will fit right around your ears so they don't put any pressure at all. Could definitely wear this for hours...I'm no audiophile, but these are definitely top notch sound quality.

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:-ok treble (although sounds goood with small tweaking so not really a negative)

Pros:-Comfortable (even with glasses)-Good level of noise reduction-Crisp sound (decent amount of bass not overwhelming, good instrumentals)-Good for games and music as well.
Comment:
Definetly for the price (~135) picking these up was a good idea. They don't block out crucial background noise but enough that you really can get lost in another world. These are amazing headphones especially if you are coming from something under $50. Unless your a real crazy audiophile these will more than suffice. Highly recommended. Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:Maybe a little expensive, but worth every penny.Open ear design lets people hear what I'm hearing.

Pros:Comfy, sound great.
Comment:
I wouldn't buy them for $200, but they sound great for $135. The wire is sometimes moves under my neck and annoys me a little, but I can easily move it away and it leaves me alone for a bit.

I picked up a pair during the surprise special, and I am very impressed. This is a major stepup from my previous Zalman 5.1 headphones. Paired with my old Zalman mic, my gaming experience has so far been great. Sennheiser is a brand I'll be buying from now on.

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:open system means you will be bothering everyone around you.

Pros:Crisp highsstrong mids and punchy baseextremely comfortable
Comment:
These cans are great, and when on sale here i wouldn't even think twice. If someone needs a starter pair of great quality hi-fi headphones there is no better headphones than these. The comfort level in my opinion is only beaten by it's bigger brother the HD-650. you can seriously have these on for hours without feeling uncomfortable. Sound is fantastic right out of the box and although an amp does make it sound slightly better it might be un-noticed by most and definitely not worth the minimum 200-300$ price tag for a quality portable amp. Buy these and forget the amp, you will not regret it.

Cons:-Not as much Bass as I'd prefer

Pros:-Very Comfortable-Very smooth, crisp sound
Comment:
I've had these headphones for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love them. I keep them at work since I need headphones on to listen to music there, and I wanted something good and comfortable. First thing, these headphones are a DREAM when it comes to wearing them; the construction quality is amazing and the suede feels like wearing a pillow. At first I was kind of iffy on getting them because I wasn't sure an open-ear headphone would be suitable for the environment (would be fine at home louder) but the external noise from the phones are not that bad at all. Besides, I don't need to run it loud because the noise cancellation is good on them.My previous pair of headphones was the HD455 (Sennheiser) which were of poor build quality and very uncomfortable to wear; however I did like the quality of the sound and it played bass very well. I also own a pair of PMX 60's (Sennheiser) which are street style headphones - also very comfortable and plays very nice sound, bass as well. I still use those with my MP3 player.I found the HD555's to be lacking a bit in the bass department, but that might just be because I haven't really cranked them too much, overall the sound out of them is still top quality and I would definitely recommend them as a mid-level solution (if you can afford it, the 650s are likely much better)Money well spent, in my opinion.

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:sound leakage (not too bad in my case because I like lower volume and use in my room)slow shipping - Took NCIX 3 days to ship to Toronto. (with express shipping) =/

Pros:Sound QualitySuitable bass (Some people might think it's bad thing if they like tons of bass)Very comfortableGood for movies, games, and music that doesn't need tons of bass. (I don't like too bassy anyway)
Comment:
AKG K66 is a little more comfortable than the HD555 but the HD555 is already very comfortable. The sound quality is great comparing to my other earphones/headphones or my Creative 5300 5.1 speakers set. I don't like heavy bass and I think the bass is suitable and enough for my need. The HD555 works well with my Auzentech X-Meridian. There is no need for custom EQ tunning for HD555 and I am happy with the default "soft-rock" preset EQ. With Dolby effects on these are great for movies. They are very good for games too. I am still trying to get the most out of them from the setting.I am glad I bought this headphones.

Cons:- 1/4inch Jack- Everyone around you can hear you (Due to Open Acoustic Seal)

Pros:- Excellent Sound- Comfort(Full-size ear cups + comfortable padding)- Quality
Comment:
HD555 just replaced my ears with something amazing, I had the HD201 which was lower end full cans (which they were very good) but these... these are just... incredible!1/4inch jack is annoying, the adapter seems to come off easily from my plugin. Just keep in mind everything in the room with you can hear you, even at low volume. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-10-08 09:46 AM

These are simply fantastic headphones. I know Sennheiser is known for it's quality, but I was past impressed with what they offer for this price. I have owned many pair of headphones in my day and this tops the list for anything even remotley close to it's price range. It obviously has some flaws, but most headphones for $200 will. However unless you are an extreme audiophile with thousand dollar tastes these will be more then enough.

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:- Bass somewhat lacking if used without an amp and equalizer.

Pros:- Soundstage very immersive for music and movies- Very precise 3D positoning for games- Sounds superb with some tuning from an amp and equalizer.
Comment:
Sound is rich and immersive. Movies sound awesome. Music is super immersive. Perfect for trance and techno. High precision 3D positioning in games. If used without amp and equalizer, highs are great but lacks bass. Can be tuned to sound amazing with amp and equalizer. When used without amp, may sound a bit weak between 60 and 100 Hz and under 30 Hz. Frequency between 30 and 50 Hz are less affected by the absence of an amp. 3D positioning and immersiveness is not affected by the absence of an amp so this is a perfect choice for gamers wanting an edge. Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:I haven't had any problem with these, although the bass is a little low compared to other brands like Bose. I put this as its Strengths but it can also be its' weakness, the long cable takes up alot of space when it's you wind it up. The last downside is the connector, it has the large audio connector (like 3in long) with a converter for a normal headphone jack.

Pros:Great Sound Quality, which is perfect for the music lover. It's very clear, especially when listening to classical music. It contains 10F of Cable so you don't have to worry about it being to short.
Comment:
Overall these headphones are amazing and they are the best i have every purchased, it was a bonus that I got them on sale at NCIX. I would highly recommend these to any music fan. The positives of these headphones out ways the negatives buy a long shot.

Sennheiser HD555 Binaural Stereo Headphones
Cons:-main input jack very large 1/4" included 1/8" adapter-makes the input into a pc sound card a huge adapter add on -when attached together the input jacks are 4-5 inches long-no in-line volume adjustment

Pros:-excellent sound quality-very comfortable-great quality construction-adjustable head size and double pivoting earpieces-velvet like fabric padding on the headrest and earpieces-open cup design (surrounds the entire ear; more comfortable)-long 10ft, thick 1/8mm cord -ability to wear for extended hours
Comment:
The HD555 Hi-Fi are by far the most comfortable, durable and better headset out of the three.I have attached a ZALMAN microphone to the cord. Works great together... for games and chat. The 1/8mm adapter is plugged into the handy VOLUME control cord I received with the ICEMAT headset and from there the cord is plugged into my soundcard.I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend these to anyone. I wasted my money buying the other headsets. You pay for what you get.

Cons:i hate "breaking" headphones in

Pros:excellent for gamingcs:s
Comment:
these are the ownage. no need to look any further. i play cs:s, cal-i actually for now. i was playing with my pc161s before, they're okay i guess didnt really give me that "much" of an advantage. but with these, the footsteps are just so much more clear and i say this from experience, these headphones bring all the sounds to like a same level. you know, lets say with crappy headphones if you want to have loud footsteps, you have to turn the volume up? then everything else will be turned up with means if you throw a grenade your ears will explodethese somehow put all the sound on the same level and footsteps are so easy to hear now. i can even pick them up while im running with a little bit of training. but when im walking i can basically hear anything example: dust2 im in mid/short A T area, i can hear AKs going off inside the long A double door area.

Cons:Cable is a bit thinBulky 1/4" to 1/8" adapter

Pros:Unbeatable sound quality in the sub-200 price range
Comment:
I'm very happy with this purchase. The headphones sound great, although the bass isn't as strong as I'm used to. Otherwise the sound clarity is exceptional. If you're planning on using these with a portable mp3 player, be warned that the 1/8" jack adapter is a bit bulky and might get in the way.
