Cons:You do have to remove the motherboard (and even power supply if your screw driver isn't short) to place the base screws, but it's not that difficult. Everything went smoothly.
Pros:I just installed it on my K45. The base more than covers the top of the CPU, compared to the stock fan that was only about 60-70% in contact. My system now runs 10C cooler than it did before (I also threw on some arctic silver). |
I just installed it on my K45. The base more than covers the top of the CPU, compared to the stock fan that was only about 60-70% in contact. My system now runs 10C cooler than it did before (I also threw on some arctic silver). You do have to remove the motherboard (and even power supply if your screw driver isn't short) to place the base screws, but it's not that difficult. Everything went smoothly. The loudest piece now is the power supply fan, believe it or not. It's a nice system. I definitely recommend buying it if you don't have it.
